Faker reveal plans for their 'Get Loved' project and album

Faker are very excited to reveal plans for their Get Loved project and album. So excited that they have decided to share a brand new track from the upcoming releases for fans online - for free.

Get Loved is more than just the name of the new Faker album - their first for three years. A long and difficult journey, the story of Get Loved will be told in parts - singles, remixes, EPs, videos, live shows and an album. It is their most daring and anthemic work - but also their most personal set of songs to date.

One of these songs, ‘Back When Solvents’, is available to stream online at www.faker.com.au from today and will be available for free download from September 13th. Nathan describes the track as ‘a song about a time, when with the help of a partner in crime, you felt like you could do anything’. The band will also be sharing online a special ‘Back When Solvents’ video they filmed around Sydney from September 16th.

'Back When Solvents' will also be included on the first part of the Get Loved puzzle - How Did We Not Get Loved, a prequel EP to the full length record. After finishing the new record Get Loved in April, Nathan and Nic felt a part of the story was missing. So in June, they headed back into the studio (well the studio in their living room) with their new band-mates Liam and Chris and recorded three new songs in the space of a week.

How Did We Not Get Loved is a five track collection featuring two album tracks and three brand new tracks. It tells a different story: it looks at the darker side of relationships and loves lost. How Did We Not Get Loved will be released on CD and online on October 7th. All formats will be available to pre-order at www.faker.com.au from September 13th.

Also on the 13th of September, Faker will announce their first national headline tour in three years. The band will be at their road-tested peak after coming off the huge national tour with The Wombats.

So when do we Get Loved? Faker’s first full length record in three years will be released on Friday 27th January, 2012.
