Exclusive masterclasses announced for the Face The Music conference

This year’s Face The Music program is offering the exclusive opportunity to apply and attend a range of small intensive workshops and master classes, providing up close and personal access to some of the music industries leading creative and business minds.

Touching on a range of subjects including Songwriting, Band Agreements, Artist Development, Music Production and Music Markets, this is an opportunity for emerging artists to gain specific knowledge and feedback from industry professionals on relevant subjects facing them in today’s industry.

Get up close and personal with Jess Beston and Vanessa Picken, discussing the intricacies of Artist Development and the indie way of releasing music. Drawing from over 10 years of major label experience, Beston and Picken have worked with the likes of Gyroscope, Children Collide, The Naked & Famous, Gorillaz, Angus and Julia Stone and Airbourne. Together they will guide you through all the facets of development, creation, planning, releasing and promoting your music.

Hosted by Eagle and The Worm’s Jarrad Brown, APRA is offering eight lucky songwriters the chance to attend the hands-on APRA Songwriting Master class, focusing on songwriting and arranging skills. To attend you need to apply at www.apra-amcos.com.au prior to 5.00pm Wednesday November 9th.

Legal professionals Darren Sanicki and Suzanne Derry will take you on a guided look at the key issues you should cover in any Band Agreement. The workshop will look at what a good band agreement should cover, who owns what, protecting your interests and avoiding disputes.

Whilst Export Music Producer Millie Millgate and Footstomp’s Graham Ashton will present an in-depth workshop detailing a step by step how-to on utilising music market events and tackling the showcase/conference environment, both in Australian and overseas.

For the opportunity to be a part of one of the intensive workshops or master classes, you just need to be a Face The Music ticket holder and register your interest via www.facethemusic.org.au. These sessions are extremely limited so get in early, applications close at 5.00pm Wednesday November 16th and successful applicants will be notified prior to the event.

Other workshops also include an introduction to Pro-Tools and Reason, covering basic principles addressing many facets involved in the different recording software and systems and these will only be booked on the Saturday at the registration desk.
