Dum Dum Girls announce further Australian shows this Summer!

Infectious sing-song sensations Dum Dum Girls have announced a series of side dates around Australia this summer [on the back of appearances at the already announced Peats Ridge and Pyramid Rock festivals]. The announcement from Handsome Tours coincides with the release of second full-length album, ‘Only In Dreams’, just last week.

Testified by The New York Times as their best record to date - “’Only In Dreams’ seethes with a beautiful, raging confidence, louder & fuller than anything they’ve done before, & better than the one-time peers they’re leaving behind. These lush & reverb-thick songs are ambitious & pointed” – ‘Only In Dreams’ sees Dum Dum Girls spearheading a pack of noveau coming-of-age-esque bands with verve, smoke-rings-through-your-sheets hooks & a flinty yet understated resolve that is set to surpass their contemporaries.

Having played sell-out shows supporting MGMT, Vampire Weekend and Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Dum Dum Girls are set to continue their impressive run of live performances when they hit Australia this summer.

DRUM MEDIA “Fall in love this spring, get your heart broken, dance away the pain and have this album as the soundtrack to the whole beautifully clichéd affair”
BRAG “A strong and effective second album”
PITCHFORK “It might end up looking like the beginning of something – the first steps forward for the band, or perhaps a raising of the bar for this entire revivial”
THE PHOENIX “Dee Dee delivers an album that sounds like Chrissie Hynde backed by Hüsker Dü. Only in Dreams could make you wonder what other indie bands would jump up and thrive if only they had steamroller production”
ONE THIRTY BPM “Dum Dum Girls always know exactly who they are, play on their own strengths, and leave the audience fully satisfied and happy to come back for more. Simplicity rarely sounds this good”
PASTE MAGAZINE “With Only in Dreams, Dum Dum Girls have raised the bar”
CMJ “The result is a terrific, fun and most of all, genuine follow-up from one of the best surf pop bands of recent memory”
