Bloc Party Sign to Frenchkiss Records & Cooperative Music for New Album

After all the recent media buzz surrounding the future of London's Bloc Party, the band's HQ have released news regarding the status of their current demo/recording sessions.

Bloc Party have signed on with Frenchkiss and Cooperative Music for their new album, their first in four years; Frenchkiss as the distributors of the new material in North America, and in partnership with Cooperative in the rest of the world (excluding Japan and Southeast Asia).

Frontman Kele Okereke, who has been enjoying the successes of a solo career for the past few years, says of the new signing deal:

“It is with great pleasure that I would like to announce to the universe that Bloc Party have now signed to Frenchkiss Records. This signing has made Bloc Party very happy because not only do we know and love the people at this label but we know and love this label's output. Frenchkiss has released some mighty fine music over the years, music that has gone on to influence this very band. So here's to some more mighty fine music..."
