NSW: Darlinghurst Theatre to honour Nick Enright

Darlinghurst Theatre Company will honour the memory of Nick Enright, an actor, director, teacher, and writer for film, television, radio and the stage. The Enright family will support the theatre company by producing three plays by Nick in 2014, as well as two more works in 2015 and 2016.
The first, Daylight Saving, will play from 31st October to 30th November 2014.

NSW: Theatre Designer awarded Hephzibah Tintner Fellowship

Costumer, set and puppet designer, Aleisa Jelbart, has been awarded the Hephzibah Tintner Fellowship of $40,000.
Jelbart is one of the youngest recipients of the fellowship for young artists working in the fields of music or dance, with a focus on composing, conducting, choreography, production design or direction.

Sydney: Epicentre Theatre Company presents Nick Enright’s Blackrock

Epicentre Theatre Company will produce Nick Enright’s play, Blackrock, based on the true story of the rape and murder of Leigh Leigh in 1989. Directed by Tristan Carey and Samantha Cunningham, the play will run from now until Saturday 14th December.

Sydney: Tickets now on sale for The Jerusalem Project, at the Joan Sutherland Theatre, Sydney Opera House

The Jerusalem Project is a musical journey through 2,000 years music that has “connected Jews, Christians and Muslims to the spiritual capital.”

Sydney: The Redux Project: Aussie Mega Redux to be held in Sydney in January 2014

UK artist Richard DeDomenici is set to recreate the sets of Australian films throughout Sydney, as part of The Redux Project: Aussie Mega Redux, on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th January, 2014. The “performance” is a ‘lo-fi celebration of cinema’, and is being held as part of the Sydney Festival. Melbourne: ACMI announces the appointment of new Marketing and Development Director

Christopher Travers has been appointed the new Marketing and Development Director at The Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI). Chris has international experience in the fields of senior marketing, communications and development roles within the cultural, television broadcast and public sectors. Chris will begin his role as the new Director at ACMI in March 2014.
