Mike Noga announces Pozible campaign for new album and special album preview launch show in Melbourne!

Mike Noga has returned home for a short little while to launch a crowdfunding campaign through Pozible to help fund his new album! Noga has been spending much of 2014 in London writing and preparing what's to become the follow up to the acclaimed album The Balladeer Hunter, as well as touring with the likes of Kurt Vile and Mick Turner, but is back in Australia to bring the album home in more ways than one. The funds raised through the campaign will go towards all facets of the record's creation, from mixing and mastering and all the production.

LA based composer, producer and musician Jherek Bischoff is currently in Australia supporting Missy Higgins on her national tour, but has been connecting with Australian audiences and music fans for years now, through his work with the Brassland label and the likes of Amanda Palmer, the Kronos Quartet and more. Extremely talented, Bischoff has begun work on a new studio album in Cistern and currently has a Kickstarter campaign in operation to help fund it.

Angels & Airwaves announce new record and short film to be released this December.

Angels & Airwaves will be releasing a new album and film in Australia this December! Entitled The Dream Walker, the album will be released independently and concurrently with the short filmPoet Anderson: The Dream Walker on December 9th. Conceptualised by Tom DeLonge and Ilan Rubin, the project is completely self-funded and independent. The Dream Walker is set to incorporate a comic book series, novels and a live-action film, elements of which are to be revealed in more detail next year to mark the tenth anniversary of Angels & Airwaves.

The Grates announce their return with new label imprint and album!

It's been a while since we've heard from The Grates, but this isn't to say nothing has been happening in their camp in recent times. Currently relishing the successes their cafe and bar, the Southside Tea Room, has brought them, the Brisbane-based Patience Hodgson and John Patterson have been embracing their local scene as entrepreneurs as well as long-standing music legends outta Brisbane. Oh yeah, they also are now married and expecting a little Grate baby. So times have been busy for the duo, safe to say.

We suppose just about every "reunion" is inevitable these days, but it doesn't stop us from getting excited about it. Iconic punk trio Sleater-Kinney are the latest to get us excited, announcing today their first album in ten years, No Cities To Love, which will be released on 16th January 2015 on Sub Pop via Inertia in Australia.

Thom Yorke surprises the music world with new solo album, distributed through BitTorrent

Radiohead's Thom Yorke is no stranger to experimental release methods, and so the surprise announcement that he has released his second solo album through BitTorrent seems perfectly in line with what the music industry maverick is all about these days. In a press release co-written with long time collaborator and album producer Nigel Godrich, Yorke announces that the new album is be titled Tomorrow's Modern Boxes and has made it available for download for the low asking price of $6 (USD)

Davey Lane Announces Album Release Date and National Tour

Davey Lane has announced that his debut album, Atonally Young, will be released on October 3rd and that a national tour will follow in late October and November. The album promises to be an 11-track vessel into another world. Davey Lane has toured alongside the likes of Todd Rundgren, Beady Eye, Wolfmother and Bob Mould so his live set should impress.
