VED

VED

Swedish dance musicians VED are getting ready to release their self-titled debut. Originally starting as a solo project inspired by film music, progressive rock, folk, and early electronic music, VED has developed into a hypnotic instrumental rock band. The album is out October 9, 2012, via Adrian Recordings.

MUMFORD & SONS

Mumford & Sons are just about to hit our shores for a tour, so it only seems appropriate that their second album Babel gets a release before they hit the road. It’ll be out on September 21, 2012, through Gentlemen Of the Road / Dew Process in Australia.

SCALA & KOLACNY BROTHERS

Scala & Kolacny Brothers have just announced an alternative Christmas record. It features versions of Joni Mitchell’s “River” and Smashing Pumpkins’ “Christmastime”, among other notable Christmas tracks. December is out November 12, 2012, through [PIAS] Recordings.

LED ZEPPELIN

Led Zeppelin famously reunited in December of 2007 to perform in London. That concert, Celebration Day, will have a worldwide theatrical release in over 40 countries on October 17, 2012, by Omniverse Vision. It will also be available in video and audio formats on November 19, 2012, through Swan Song/Atlantic Records.

SETH SENTRY

Melbourne hip-hop artist Seth Sentry released his debut album today. This Was Tomorrow is available right now through High Score Records/Inertia. Seth has also announced a string of tour dates through September and October, going through cities and regional centres.

BIG BAD VOODOO DADDY

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy debuted at #1 on the Jazz Album Chart in the US, on both iTunes and Amazon, with their new album. Rattle Them Bones is out now, on Savoy Jazz through Universal Music Australia.

TWO HOURS TRAFFIC

Two Hours Traffic

With a new producer, a different line-up, and a new sound, Two Hours Traffic are close to releasing their latest EP. Siren Spell is out September 21, 2012, through ABC Music. A full-length album is expected to be released early 2013.

ME

Melbourne band ME are returning to our shores with their yet-to-be-titled debut album for early 2013. But to tide us over until then, they’re also bringing back a new EP. Another Story High is out September 28, 2012, on Lizard King Records.

BRIAN MCFADDEN

Brian McFadden has just announced an album of his favourite Irish songs. McFadden reached out to those he respected in the Irish industry, resulting in features on the album including Ronan Keating. Titled The Irish Connection, it’s due out on November 2, 2012, through Universal Music.

MASSIVE ATTACK

Massive Attack

Massive Attack’s album Blue Lines is being remixed and remastered from its original tapes. It will be available in various formats, both physical and digital, and is dedicated to the memory of Johnny Dollar. Blue Lines: 2012 Remix/Remaster is out November 16, 2012, through EMI.

NEIL YOUNG & CRAZY HORSE

Neil Young & Crazy Horse have just announced details regarding their next album. Recorded right after their previous album Americana, Psychedelic Pill will be released on October 26, 2012, through Reprise.

NIGEL WEARNE

Melbourne-based country/folk singer-songwriter Nigel Wearne has revealed that his new album will be out around the end of the year. Black Crow is out November 2, 2012, and is surrounded by a run of tour dates through October and November.

PARKWAY DRIVE

Parkway Drive have announced details regarding their fourth album. Atlas is out on October 26, 2012, via Resist Records. Check out “Dark Days”, the debut track from the record, below. Parkway Drive will be touring Australia in support of the album through December.

MEGADETH

Megadeth‘s most popular album Countdown to Extinction is set to be rereleased as a twentieth anniversary edition. The remastered album will come paired with a recording of a 1992 concert from San Francisco’s Cow Palace. It’s out November 2, 2012, through Capitol/EMI.

BABA-X

Melbourne producer Baba-X has revealed details of his new solo EP. Sounds of the Concrete Forest Vol. 3 is out digitally and on cassette on October 9, 2012.

SELF IS A SEED

Self Is A Seed are getting ready to release a free EP, showcasing 3 tracks from their debut album. Gratis is out now, and you can download it all over the web, including here: http://selfisaseed.bandcamp.com/ Siren, their debut album, is out October 25, 2012.

MACY GRAY

Macy Gray is releasing an album reinterpreting Stevie Wonder’s songs from his classic Talking Book album. Macy Gray’s Talking Book album will be released on October 26, 2012, on 429 Records through Universal Music Australia, coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the original.

SARAH BLASKO

Sarah Blasko

Sarah Blasko has revealed details regarding her fourth album. I Awake is self-produced, due for release on October 26, 2012, on Dew Process, and features the Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra.

LUCY DURACK

On stage and screen actor Lucy Durack has announced her debut album, which is a collection of easy listening covers and originals. Her self-titled debut is due out September 28, 2012, through ABC Music.

WE ARE THE PHYSICS

Glasgow four-piece We Are The Physics have released details of the follow up to their 2008 debut album. Your Friend, The Atom is out October 22, 2012, through This Is Fake DIY Records. Check out single “Goran Ivanisevic” below.

LINCOLN LE FEVRE

Tasmania’s own Lincoln Le Fevre recently revealed details of his sophomore album. Described as “a little bit punk, a little bit country, a little bit rock’n’roll”, he’s an “every man” - the very kind that Australia loves. Resonation is out October 12, 2012, via Poison City Records.

ENGELBERT HUMPERDINCK

Famous singer/songwriter Engelbert Humperdinck has announced details of his latest collection of biggest hits. Included on it is his new single “Love Will Set You Free”, which he represented the UK with at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest. Release Me - The Best Of Engelbert Humperdinck is out now.

BENTO

Bento is the new project of Ben Gillies, the drummer and co-founder of Silverchair. It features a selection of Ben’s friends, including Thomas Rawle (Papa Vs Pretty). Diamond Days is Bento’s debut album, and is out October 26, 2012. Check out the title track below.

THE SCRIPT

The Script’s new album #3 is out now through Sony Music Entertainment Australia. The Irish trio will also be playing a special show at the Metro Theatre in Sydney on the 24th of September, which you might have been lucky enough to get tickets to. Unfortunately it is sold out.

LISA MITCHELL

Lisa Mitchell

It’s three years on from Lisa Mitchell’s debut album Wonder, and she’s getting ready to release her second album. Bless This Mess is out October 12, 2012, through Warner Music Australia. Tickets for her “Bless This Mess” tour (with Alpine and Danco) are on sale now.

THE TEA PARTY

The Tea Party are finishing up with the fan-funded campaign for their first live double album, The Tea Party: Live From Australia. The album was recorded over the band’s 13th sold out Australian tour. Check out the project here: http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/theteapartylive

VARIOUS ARTISTS

Austep Music Vol. 7 features 19 songs from upcoming Australian musicians across a variety of genres. Featuring artists like Darky Roots, Erica Owns The Sky, and Matt Stillert, the compilation is out right now.

Kittball Konspiracy Vol. 5 is a selection of deep and tech house from Solingen, Germany. Featuring artists like Filthy Rich and Wild Culture, the compilation is out now.

THE SHEEPDOGS

Canadian band The Sheepdogs have just released their self-titled Atlantic Records debut - it’s out now. Fronted by Australian born singer and guitarist Ewan Currie, the band funded their first three albums and early years on their own, and after winning a competition became the first unsigned band to appear on the front page of Rolling Stone.

THEE OH SEES

Thee Oh Sees

San Francisco garage rockers Thee Oh Sees will be putting out two releases in Australia this September: Putrifiers II and The Singles Collection Vol. 1 & 2. The former is a full length release, while the latter a collection of out of print singles alongside unreleased treasures. They’re out now via Fuse Music.

PROPAGANDHI

Canadian punk band Propagandhi has just released their sixth studio album. Failed States is out now through Epitaph.

NO ZU

NO ZU was initially formed by Nicolaas Oogjes in 2007, as an outlet for musical experimentation. After finishing two EPs with a set of loose collaborators, Life was recorded with a core band of friends. It’s out now through Fuse / Sensory Projects.

TIM CHAISSON

Canadian singer-songwriter Tim Chaisson has announced details of his fifth album. Two successful Australian tours in the last 10 months will see him return to our shores later this year in support of the new release. The Other Side is out September 21, 2012, via ABC Music.

TAME IMPALA

MS MR

New York duo MS MR have announced their debut EP Candy Bar Creep Show, which will be released over four weeks on Tumblr. Every Monday for four weeks a new track, alongside artwork, a video, and an official remix, will be posted. URTHBOY

Urthboy

Urthboy has announced his fourth album. Entirely co-produced by Hermitude and Count Bounce, the album has already brought with it first single “Naïve Bravado” featuring Daniel Merriweather. Smokey’s Haunt is due for release October 12, 2012, through Elefant Traks. The Naïve Bravado Tour will go through late August and September.

ROD STEWART

Rod Stewart just revealed details of his first ever Christmas album. Featuring guests like Michael Bublé, Cee-lo Green, and Mary J. Blige, the album will feature both classic Christmas songs and one original track. Merry Christmas, Baby is out November 9, 2012, through Verve Music Group.

REGULAR JOHN

Sydney four-piece Regular John are gearing up to release their second album. The follow-up to their 2009 ARIA-nominated album The Peaceful Atom is a Bomb is called Strange Flowers, and it’s out now. The Strange Flowers album tour goes through late September and early October.

EVIL EDDIE

The man behind Butterfingers, Evil Eddie, has announced details of his debut album. A hip-hop album through and through, Welcome To Flavour Country is out mid-October, and is coming out as a crowd-funded project through Pledge Music: http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/evileddie

THE MARK OF CAIN

Adelaide-based band The Mark of Cain have announced details of their next album. Songs of the Third and Fifth is out November 2, 2012, through Feel Presents and Fuse.

DEFTONES

Deftones have announced their seventh studio album. The follow-up to 2010’s widely praised Diamond Eyes, Koi No Yokan is out November 9, 2012, through Warner Music Australia.

DARREN GIBSON

Darren Gibson is getting ready to give his debut album a worldwide launch. Gibson has toured alongside Xavier Rudd and Frank Turner, playing in Australia extensively. Cross Town Motions is out now via Trusty Chords Music, in digital format.

THE ROLLING STONES

Marking five decades since their beginning, The Rolling Stones have announced a greatest hits collection. Coming in various formats, with up to 80 tracks on the super-deluxe version, GRRR! is out November 12, 2012 everywhere, and November 13 for North America, through ABKCO Music & Records and Universal Music Group.

RON POPE

American singer-songwriter Ron Pope has revealed details of his new album. Atlanta is out October 5, 2012, ahead of his first tour here in November, where he’ll visit Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane.

KING PARROT

King Parrot

Details surrounding the debut album from Melbourne thrash/grind/punk band King Parrot have finally been announced. You can pre-order Bite Your Head Off here: http://kingparrot.bigcartel.com/ It’ll be shipped to your door on October 1, before it gets to the stores. They’ve also got a handful of tour dates planned throughout late September to very early December.

TARA SIMMONS

Brisbane musician Tara Simmons has announced her second full length album. Featuring singles “Be Gone”, “Where Do You Go”, and “Weekend of Hearts”, It’s Not Like We’re Trying to Move Mountains is out September 28, 2012, through Inertia.

ROBBIE WILLIAMS

Robbie Williams has revealed details of his ninth studio album. Williams has listed his aim was to write what would be considered hits, by himself and by his listeners. Take The Crown is out November 2, 2012, through Island/Universal, and is available for pre-order now.

BLACK LAKES

Indie/Psychwest band BLACK LAKES have announced their debut Trick Hotel EPs. Independently recorded above a Sydney Hotel over 5 weeks, their debut EP Only For The Woods is out September 26, 2012, and will be followed by Entry to the Trick Hotel in 2013.

DAVID GUETTA

David Guetta has announced a re-release of his 2011 album Nothing But The Beat. Nothing But The Beat 2.0 features all the hits from the original, alongside six new songs. It’s out now through Virgin Music.

VICES

Vices

London-based band Vices have unveiled their new EP Hotel Monsoon. The self-recorded and self-produced EP will be released September 24, 2012.

PATAPHYSICS

Pataphysics, aka soul hip-hop artist Patrick Marks, has revealed details of his debut album. Subversive is an attack on those of Australia’s anti-terrorism laws which Marks feels infringe on freedom of speech. Wrote, produced, recorded, and mixed entirely by himself, Subversive is out now through Creative Vibes and MGM.

METZ

METZ

Toronto-based trio METZ have announced details of their debut album. The self-titled release will be out October 5, 2012, on Sub Pop through Inertia.

POLICA

Electronic pop-soul group Polica have revealed information on their debut album. Developing from the Gayngs collective of artists, it mixes Ryan Olson’s production with vocals from Channy Leanagh, and the soundscapes and vocals of Mike Noyce (Bon Iver). Give You The Ghost is out October 19, 2012, on POD through Inertia.
