
A slightly quieter week than normal but some very exciting news! Releases from artists such as: Julia Stone, Last Dinosaurs, Bleeding Knees Club, Deez Nuts, DZ Deathrays, Children Collide and plenty more!
It’s been a little slow on the album release front this week compared to others. However, there are some absolutely killer releases for you to feast your ears, mind and eyes upon so let’s get cracking!
IMAGINARY CITIES
Canadian indie pop band Imaginary Cities have released a new EP in the US. Titled the ‘US EP’, the release contains two tracks from their album ‘Temporary Resident’ along with an acoustic version of ‘Marry the Sea’. Fans can purchase the album via iTunes.

CLARK
Warp’s newest signee, Clark, will release his latest album Iradelphic in Australia on March 30th. The album is highly anticipated with artists such as Friendly Fires and Massive Attack having praised his work.

SOEN
Soen, the band featuring former members of bands such as Opeth and Testament, are set to release their debut album on March 16th. The album is titled Cognitive and was recorded with renowned producer Dave Bottrill.

JULIA STONE
The female half of brother-sister duo Angus & Julia Stone, Julia Stone, has released the first single from her forthcoming album. The single is titled ‘Let’s Forget All The Things That We Say’ and will be released as an EP on February 20th. Her solo album, By The Horns will be available in May with more details to come over the next few weeks.

PINK MARTINI / SAORI YUKI

Japanese singer Saori Yuki has collaborated with mini orchestra Pink Martini to release an album of re-worked songs from the year of Yuki’s debut album. The album is titled 1969 and will be released on March 23rd through EMI.

LAST DINOSAURS
On March 2nd, Brisbane’s Last Dinosaurs will release their debut album In A Million Years. The band began recording in June 2011 at BJB studios in Sydney and have been busy sharing the stage with the likes of Foster The People and Foals.

POND

Western Australia’s Pond (which consists of, among others, a few members of Tame Impala) are back with their fourth album in almost as many years. The album is titled Beard Wives Denim and will be out on March 2nd through Modular.
BLEEDING KNEES CLUB
It was mentioned in the first edition of Album Release News this year, but Bleeding Knees Club have released a hilarious promo clip for their debut album Nothing To Do.

DZ DEATHRAYS
After a phenomenal 2011, DZ Deathrays seem set to continue the trend by releasing their debut album Bloodstreams on April 6th. CHILDREN COLLIDE
It’s more than likely you would have either heard that Children Collide have a new album out in April titled Monuments, or you may have heard the new single lifted from that album which is ‘Sword to a Gunfight’. Either way, the band have released a promo video for ‘Sword to a Gunfight which features snippets of an interview with the band and footage of them recording the track.

PACKWOOD

Sydney musician Packwood is gearing up to release his debut EP on March 8th. The seven-track EP will be simply titled Packwood and a national tour will follow shortly afterwards.
THE MENZINGERS
Punk rockers The Menzingers have released their first album for Epitaph Records today. On The Impossible Past comes just in time before the band make their way down under for the Soundwave Festival in a week’s time.

Influential artist Gonjasufi has just released his fourth album entitled MU.ZZ.LE. The album has so far received unanimous praise from both local and international press.

QUAKERS

The huge 35-member hip hop collective known as Quakers will release their new album on March 27th. Titled QUAKERS, the collective features many musicians but focuses on three main contributors including Portishead’s Geoff Barrow.
SIMONE FELICE

Having released music with other bands like Duke & The King and the Felice Brothers, Simone Felice is stepping out on his own. His debut self-titled album is due for release on March 30th and first single ‘You and I Belong’ features backing vocals from members of a little band you may have heard of... Mumford & Sons.

JOHN K. SAMSON
Frontman for The Weakerthans, John K. Samson, is set to release his new solo album Provincial on March 16th. The album is a set of re-recorded songs from previous EPs and also contains a bunch of newly written songs.

DEEZ NUTS

Australian hardcore band Deez Nuts have announced the release of a CD/DVD package titled Fuck The World. The DVD included in the package will feature a 40 minute documentary, a live set from the Destroy Music 2011 tour and the band’s music videos thus far. The CD will consist of the ‘Stay True’ album and the out of print ‘Rep Your Hood’ EP. Pre-orders are now available via UNFD and JB HiFi.
PASSENGER
One week ahead of it’s release, Passenger’s new album All The Little Lights has been named ‘Album of the Week’ by ABC Radio National. The album is set for release on February 24th, just ahead of his Australian tour in April.
