This weeks album news is filled full of exciting announcements, with release news from The Flaming Lips, The Strokes, Wavves and much, much more.

THE FLAMING LIPS

The Flaming Lips alongside Bella Union Records have announced the long awaited upcoming release of their thirteenth studio album The Terror. Produced by long time collaborator Dave Fridmann at Tarbox Road studios the album will be released on April 1st.

YOUNG DREAMS

Norwegian band Young Dreams are set to release their much anticipated album Between Places on March 1st. Check out a mini documentary on the band below, directed by Kristoffer Borgli.

SOUND CITY

Sound City Real to Reel is the companion album to Dave Grohls feature length documentary Sound City premiering later in the year at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. The album will be available via Roswell records through Sony Music Entertainment Australia on March 8.

THE CHARIOT

Heavy Metal Hardcore band The Chariot are set to release a special edition version of their latest album One Wing. Just in time for their Australian Soundwave Tour on February 22.

MS MR

New York City based, indie pop duo MS MR are set to release their debut album Second Hand Rapture on May 10 via Sony Music Australia.

WEDNESDAY 13

North Carolina’s Wednesday 13 has announced his upcoming horror punk release The Dixie Dead promising to be an attention grabber. The EP will be available on February 22 via 3Wise Records.

CIVIC CIVIC

Civic Civic will release their debut full length album Rules to coincide with their upcoming February Australian tour. The album will be available on CD, LP and digital formats via Remote Control Records on February 1st.

CHELSEA LIGHT MOVING

Chelsea Light Moving led by singer Thurston Moore are set to release their self titled debut album on March 1st.

THE AMENTA

Extreme metal band The Amenta has announced the release of their latest album Flesh is Heir, embracing a DIY spirit to represent their sound. The album will be available on March 22 via EVP Recordings and Rocket Distribution.

MAN LIKE ME

Shock Records have announced the signing of Camden town duoMan Like Me as well as the release of their new album Pillow Talk. The album will be released on Mike Skinner’s (The Streets) newly resurrected record label The Beats on March 29.

THROW THE FIGHT

Throw The Fight have announced their new 4 song EP The Vault will be released on March 19. Check out their latest music video here:

THE DELTA RIGGS

The Delta Riggs shine a light on the reasons why rock 'n’ roll shall always be a thing of the people, for the people. With their anticipated debut album Rah Rah Radio scheduled for an April 5 release.

SONGS

Sydneysiders Songs have announced the release of their debut album Malabar available March 8.

THE BEARDY DURFS

Copenhagen’s The Beardy Durfs are set to release mangled noise rock debut album A Ton Of Bricks on April 22 via Pad and Pen Records.

ROGER KNOX

Roger Knox aka Koori King of Country as he’s known in his homeland is set to release a collection of songs written by Aboriginal artists, Knox’s peers and predecessors called Strangers In My Land. Some are handed down folk songs which could have potentially been lost forever if not recorded. The album will be available on March 9 via Bloodshot Records and Inertia Music.

THE STROKES

The Strokes announce their highly anticipated fifth studio album Comedown Machine. To be released on March 22 via RCA Records and Sony Entertainment Music Australia.

BRITISH SEA POWER

British Sea Power will release their fifth album Machineries of Joy, written in the Berwyn Mountains in North Wales the album will be available March 29 via Rough Trade and Remote Control records.

WAVVES

Straight from the dungeons of LA, two piece Wavves have announced the upcoming release of their fourth album Afraid of Heights. To be released March 22 via Inertia.

THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS

New studio album for They Might Be Giants called Nanobots will be released on March 8 via Breakaway Recordings.

AMY DICKSON

Classical saxophone virtuoso, Amy Dickson is set to release Catch Me If You Can bringing to life the works of the film worlds leading composers. This will be available February 15.

KRISTINA MILITIADOU

Melbourne singer Kristina Miltiadou has announced the upcoming release of her debut self titled album, Available February 8.
