Album News Weekly: 4th February 2015

In This Issue: This week sees folk darlings Angus & Julia Stone releasing something special, a few artists hitting number 9 in the album count, and the soundtrack for a movie with an interesting cover.

Angus & Julia Stone

Angus & Julia Stone announced a special edition package of their acclaimed self-titled album Angus & Julia Stone . Set for Australian release next Friday February 13th, the package features a second disc of 11 live songs recorded during their extensive 2014 World tour.

Purity Ring

Canadian duo Megan James and Corin Roddick, aka Purity Ring, will return with a second album Another Eternity on February 27th via 4AD / Remote Control. Filled with brooding anthems you can hear their latest single here:

Spit & Mac

Geelong based Hip-Hop outfit Spit & Mac have announced the impending release of their debut album entitled, The Hourglass. This release, which will become available on February 19th, is the culmination of years of hard work and dedication.

Sleeping With Sirens

American post-hardcore band Sleeping With Sirens has announced their fourth full-length album Madness, available March 13th on Epitaph.

The Avener

The French artist / producer behind “Fade Out Lines” today announces his debut album The Wanderings Of The Avener. A deep house electro manifesto, the album is out on February 20th through Musique / Capitol Music France.


German producer Rampa presents Good Times Roll combining percussion, alluring chants, synths and an escalating bass line. The EP is set for release on the 26th February via Keinemusik.

River City Extension

Three years after the release of their sophomore album, Toms River, New Jersey band River City Extension have announced their latest full-length Deliverance, out March 10th on Anchor & Hope Records.

JJ Grey & Mofro

Hot on the heels of their sideshow announcement for Bluesfest comes their ninth album Ol’ Glory, due for release in Australia on February 25th with the Mascot Label Group.

Liberation Music has announced that Australian country music icon Troy Cassar-Daley will release his 9th studio album, Freedom Ride on March 13th.

The Mule Soundtrack

In conjunction with Angus Sampson, Mikey Young & Jemma Burns the soundtrack to the feature film The Mule is out this Friday. Featuring tracks from Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Mikey Young, Monte Video and Nuthin’ Suss, the soundtrack will be released on 6th February via Remote Control Records.
