Album News Weekly: 15th July 2015

In This Issue: We're keeping it mellow this week as the winter chills have been setting in all over the country, we have Josh Pyke celebrating his fans, the new one from The Maccabees, and compelling tributes from Gurrumul Yunupingu and WE LOST THE SEA.

The Maccabees

The Maccabees are back with their new record Marks To Prove It to be released July 31st on Fiction. Drawing on their previous albums and experiences it encapsulates the urban feel captured by the album artwork.

Gurrumul Yunupingu

indigenous artist Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu, will release his third studio album The Gospel Album on 31st July via Skinnyfish Music/MGM. The inspiration for this 12-song long player was a dedication to Gurrumul’s mother and aunts, who brought Gurrumul up with songs and lullabies from the church at Elcho Island.

Josh Pyke

Josh Pyke announced the release of his fifth studio album, But For All These Shrinking Hearts available on July 31st.

Mas Ysa

Mas Ysa, the creation of musician Thomas Arsenault, announces his full-length debut Seraph. Embracing electronic music with traditional songwriting the album is out July 24th via Create/Control + Downtown Records. Check out the track “Magarita” here: https://soundcloud.com/masysa/margarita

Gena Rose Bruce

We Came As Romans

We Came As Romans have announced their self-titled new album We Came As Romans, which will be released July 24th with Spinefarm Records / Caroline Australia.

Saint Asonia

Saint Asonia featuring Adam Gontier (formerly of Three Days Grace) and Mike Mushok (of Staind), will release their self-titled debut album Saint Asonia July 31st on Sony Music Australia.

WE LOST THE SEA

Sydney’s WE LOST THE SEA have announced their third album Departure Songs, their first release since the passing of their vocalist, Chris Torpy. Entirely instrumental, Departure Songs is out through Bird’s Robe Records & Art As Catharsis on 23rd July.

Rocky Nti

London newcomer Rocky Nti brings out an infectious combo with his debut EP Ride On on July 24th showcasing his revolving guitar and soulful voice.
