Album News Weekly: 11th February 2015

In This Issue: Soundwave is approaching so get ready for some heavier releases heading your way with the likes of Of Mice & Men. And before the rest of you bury your heads, there's still plenty of indie, acoustic and electric sounds to discover, with even a little something for the old school and surfers check it out!

Of Mice & Men

Orange County, CA-based Of Mice & Men are preparing to release Restoring Force: Full Circle, a special reissue of their album Restoring Force, ahead of their shows with Soundwave at the end of the month.

Set for a February 27th release with Warner Music, it will feature a deluxe double-disc digipack.


Comb the Feelings Through Your Hair is the latest album out from Grooms. Soldiering on after the loss of their recording venue the album is out through Western Vinyl on 17th February.

Little Bird

Perth acoustic-loop duo Little Bird announced the release date of their self-titled Deluxe EP Little Bird. Available 26th February it’s a collection of new wave indie pop, with influences ranging from Ed Sheeran and Matt Corby.

Blake Mills

Guitarist, producer and songwriter Blake Mills will release his new album Heigh Ho in Australia on Friday 27th February. Lead single “If I’m Unworthy” from the LP can be streamed here:

Too Close to Touch

Lexington, Kentucky band Too Close To Touch has announced details of their debut album, Nerve Endings, out March 20th on Epitaph. The band have premiered a brand new video for the song "Perfect World" here:

Cancer Bats

Canadian punk-metal band Cancer Bats have announced the release date for their fifth studio album titled Searching for Zero on March 13th, through their own imprint, Noise Church Records.

British India

One of our favourites are returning with their fifth full length album Nothing Touches Me on March 13th through Liberation Records. British India's second album with Liberation, it features the already released single "Wrong Direction" and their seventh song to hit the Hottest 100.


Featuring Sunnyboys, Coldplay, Leonard Cohen, You Am I, Midnight Oil, Yothu Yindi, Iggy Pop and Silverchair, PSYCHED spans eras and musical styles, with high voltage surfing and treasured surf memories the common denominator. Out 27th February through Warner Music Australia.


Bambounou has announced the release of his next LP Centrum via 50WEAPONS, and is available from the 27th of February.

Sidney Charles

The new album from German Sidney Charles is a collection of the Hamburg producer’s finest moments along with a selection of brand new tracks. The mix compilation takes in originals, remixes and collaborations and is out 23rd February with Avotre.

Pops Staples

Don’t Lose This, an album of previously-unreleased music by the late Pops Staples with new production by Mavis Staples and Jeff Tweedy of Wilco, will be released on dBpm/Anti- Records on February 13th.
