The Creases (Brisbane) Playlist: Our Nine Favourite Tracks

This time last week, Brisbane’s The Creases were kicking off their weekend at Splendour in the Grass, and now, for the weekend that follows, they have delivered everyone a playlist of their favourite tracks for you to enjoy… From Har Mar Superstar all the way to Mr. Blobby, this list is an eclectic mix, and exclusive to the AU… enjoy!

1. Get What You Deserve – Spiritualized

Apart from being a great song this is definitely one of the best videos put out in the last few years. It looks like a scene from Gummo and has such a breathtaking (lol) ending. *Note: Unfortunately the video wasn’t available on YouTube but we have the single stream there to kick things off…

2. Whitechapel – S.C.U.M

This video has such nice colours. I was pretty sad when S.C.U.M broke up not long after their album came out so the lead singer could marry Peaches Geldoff (r.i.p).

3. DUI – Har Mar Superstar

This is Joe’s favourite song to drink to, he puts it on every time he parties/enters a pet shop.

4. Landslide – Kirin J Callinan

Kirin always has really well done videos and this one hurts my head just watching it and thinking about being upside down for so long. This one also has the obligatory Kirin J Callinan can of coke moment + more clothes than usual.

5. De Folie Pure – Moodoïd

You wont find a more joyous video than this one, we saw these guys play in Liverpool and he has the best collection of guitars I’ve ever seen. I have no idea what they are saying but I’m sure it’s all really nice stuff.

6. All Is Full Of Love – Björk

I think this is the most beautiful music video ever made. Not much happens in it but I’m always really taken by the colours and concept. The song is cool because it only really has one chorus and then fades out and I’m pretty sure I, Robot ripped off their designs from the video. Even lesbian robots fall in love.

7. Tonight, Tonight – Smashing Pumpkins

I remember having nightmares about the jumping aliens in this video when I saw it as a kid, but this video is a pretty amazing Milieu tribute and was really inspiring for me as a kid. Also fun fact the guy in this video is the voice of Spongebob Squarepants.

8. Mesmerize – Chapterhouse

This video has really great colours and I like the ripple effects. Imagine swimming with your instruments – crazy.

9. Mr Blobby Music Video

This song spent three weeks at number 1 in the UK in 1993. If you are watching rage at 4am and this song comes on you will never sleep again.
