Following a 7 year hiatus, Fiona Apple has just released her new single "Every Single Night", which you can listen to below. It's the lead track from her forthcoming album The Idler Wheel is wiser than the Driver of the Screw, and Whipping Cords will serve you more than Ropes will ever do (say that ten times fast...). The album will be released in Australia in mid June. In the meantime enjoy the single!

This track is classic Fiona Apple. Her voice has that ability to send a shiver down your spine. Musically, it's a little stark, but it's enough to carry the track through. The album could be something special. 8/10
That voice. That sensual, stinging, preening, creaking thing of beauty that it is. Has it really been THAT long since it graced our ears? This sets a very high bar for The Idler Wheel... - here's hoping that she can clear it. Sure, there will be naysayers claiming that her early work is far superior, to which we respond: "Well, you ain't Fiona Apple. And if you ain't Fiona Apple, I don't give a rat's ass." 8/10
