Back in 2008, I saw this little Sydney band called the Holidays; I bought the eps and wore the shirt. Soon after 2009 hit and they went quiet, every so often when their debut single ‘Holiday’ showed up on shuffle I’d be reminded of how awesome their contagious pop songs are. Well, it is now 2010 and these Sydney boys are well and truly back, re-proving their song writing prowess with a series of singles and a very-near impending debut album, Post Paradise, due out September 24th.
The brand new single is ‘Broken Bones’; a little slower than what fans may expect from the boys, especially when compared to the first two singles ‘Moonlight Hours’ and ‘Golden Sky’, but every Holiday requires time to just chill out. That is what ‘Broken Bones’ is; a long, cool drink on the beach depicted by circulating synthesisers and a rolling, nonchalant drum beat.
