STEERING BY STARS - CLOSER
Steering By Stars are a four-piece band from Adelaide, Australia. Their sound could be described as Post-Rock Punk, a melding of symphonic melodies with contrasting aggressive rhythms. Steering By Stars develop their music as a live performance, placing an emphasis on creating an atmosphere that is both captivating and contiguous.
Steering By Stars have completed their debut album 'Cables', which was recorded at Broadcast Studios in Adelaide over three days. Resultant from this experience is largely a live recording of the band, which exemplifies their dynamic and spontaneous approach to creating music. Cables is essentially as you would hear their performance live, and taking this stripped back approach to recording allowed them to capture the raw momentum of their music. 'Closer' is the first track off the album.

LIONS AT YOUR DOOR - RECORDS
A lot can happen in six months.
For Lions At Your Door, the past six months have marked a significant change. Not only has the Sydney sextet released its debut EP, toured the country, lost a member, gained a member, played summer festivals, been picked up by The Harbour Agency, had a much deserved mini-holiday all whilst managing to write a slew of new material in between.
“We took a family holiday to the mountains, locked ourselves up in a cottage with a bunch of local produce and just wrote. We'd wake, eat and write. It was a fantastic experience,” says lead singer Marihuzka Larenas-Esquivel. The result of their self-imposed confinement seemed to be a new found direction in sound.
“We didn't set out to write different material. It happened very organically. We had a bunch of ideas we wanted to develop and the result was six songs that all sound quite different to any other LAYD material.” And the band couldn't be happier.
The band is rolling out this new L.A.Y.D. sound with a teaser track called Records. It's a sweet-as-fairy-floss homage to the pop songs of the 60s. “We really wanted to put something fun out first, so a pre-single seemed like a cool idea. Records was the obvious choice, only because it’s the most ridiculously fun-sugary-pop song any of us have ever written.”
Lions At Your Door is working on a sophomore EP to be released late 2010. The first single In A Sea is set for release late July 2010 and will be followed by an east coast tour.
