Hump Day with The Bon Scotts, The Bedroom Philosopher & Mystery Jets!

Happy Hump Day Everyone!

In celebration of this fine day, I'm sure many of you would agree that some superb new music is required. I'm more than happy to oblige! Today I bring you four new tracks that have caused quite a bit of aural pleasure for yours truly. That's AURAL! Get your mind out of the gutter.

THE BON SCOTTS

We Can Cause Such a Fuss / Sad Songs

The first two tracks are courtesy of The Bon Scotts. They're touring nationally in October, in support of their debut album, Oddernity, which is due out in September through Popboomerang. I'm told the band puts on a fantastic live show, full of energy and banter, and their tour will encompass both regional shows and the major east coast cities.

The new single, "We Can Cause Such a Fuss" provides precedence for the title by delivering some simple, yet damn infectious melodies. They really love a stripped back sound, and it works a treat. Meanwhile, "Sad Sad Songs" - well I can promise you it won't make you sad. Well it didn't make me sad. It made me clap along. Don't you want to clap along? Go for it! It will be your first "win" moment of the day. Enjoy!

THE BEDROOM PHILOSOPHER

Northcote (So Hungover)

Replete with cameos galore (Josh Earl, Tim Rogers, Angie Hart, Kram, Hannah Fox) The Bedroom Philosopher (a.k.a. Justin Heazlewood) has just released the clip for ‘Northcote (So Hungover)’ taken from his recently released third album ‘Songs from the 86 Tram’ - A pretty funny song and a pretty fantastic video, off the back of a stellar record. Plenty more songs from the album are here: http://www.myspace.com/thebedroomphilosopher and info here: http://www.bedroomphilosopher.com/.

MYSTERY JETS

Flash a Hungry Smile

A favourite of many, Mystery Jets are back (!!!!) with their third album ‘Serotonin’. The full album will be released on July 5th, and it was produced by Chris Thomas (Sex Pistols, Pulp etc.) - nice! With this, their first single, it really is great to see them back in action. With a kazoo back drop in tow, this track is instantly infectious- it's quite possibly the band's best single to date! Get whistling (or kazooing) and enjoy!

This brings to an end our hump day spectacular! We'll have plenty more for you tomorrow :)
