ISMFOF has only been around since 2007, but you were in a band before that, We Are The Cavalry. Were all of you in WATC? How did you meet and form ISMFOF?
12th dimensional traveling, honestly. Nabil and I were the only ones in watc though.
You have just finished a tour with Of Mice & Men, The Amity Affiction, Woe Is Me & Sleeping with Sirens, what was the tour like? Any funny stories from the tour bus?
Jo-caino baby, if you don't know you never will. A couple antics did end up on isanyoneup.com so there's a couple stories, and the bands were all great people. A couple of us continue adult relationships with the amity affliction.
As well as the bands on that tour, you've had the chance to play with some amazing bands including Emery, Silverstein, We Came As Romans and Asking Alexandria. Who has been your favourite band to tour with since forming?
I actually used to listen to Emery way back when they first started, and when I heard we were going to tour with them I was pretty stoked on it. Those other bands.. not so much. I don't pick favorites. I only have favorite pieces/shark-balls. The dudes from "Our Last Night" are some of the tightest dudes you'll ever meet!
You guys are about to head off on the Vans Warped Tour, is this the first Warped Tour you have played? Have you been to a Warped Tour as a punter? Who are you looking forward to meeting/playing alongside on the Warped Tour?
This my 2nd warped, Chris' 4th, Tapley's 2nd, and Joe's 4th. We all have an extreme amount of friends on this tour and we definitely looking forward †o seeing a couple bands. I would say that we will be avoiding more bands then we will be watching though.
Tell us about the new album 'Astral Rejection' which is to be released June 21st. How does it compare to your first debut LP 'You Can't Spell Slaughter Without Laughter'?
Well this album is more of a voodoo doll, constructed by several witches, while "Slaughter" was like two wizard's first transcendental circle. The powers have honed in a bit differently on this record and we were able to blend a lot more of our musical mistresses and influences into it, while keeping the familiar musk of the band lingering on the listeners clothes and fingers.
What can we expect from the new album and will you be showcasing a lot of those new tracks during your Warped Tour performances?
the thing about new journeys is you should not go into them expecting anything, good or bad, because that is limiting the whole experience, cheapens it in a way if you know or can guess what is coming. Saying that you can definitely expect it to go through your ears and fool around with your being. We are so excited on the new material and the energy we are going to bring to it live is going to be a new experience, so we want to do it as much as we can on warped. We have been playing the "slaughter" songs for close to three years now and we still love them but we want to bring all the new songs to the table.
After your US dates, you are heading to the UK and Europe, have you guys been over there before? Will you be doing any site seeing or tourist-y things while you're there?
Ismfof has never been there, but a couple of our members have been there in different bands. I will be doing as much sightseeing and bird-watching as possible.
Is an Australian tour on the cards?
I fucking wish!
You're genre has been described as 'experimental rock', would you agree you are an experimental band, if so, in what ways?
That is a pretty accurate description.. I mean "rock" is a pretty general term... I'd say more of a onyx/granite.
