Another August in Los Angeles, another KCON and M! Countdown concert bonanza! Now in its fourth year, the All Things Hallyu event ballooned once again in size, scope, and attendance. This year’s mantra was “Ignite Your Feelz” and the double concerts indeed ignited all kinds of feelz for the 90,000 attendees who took over the Staples Center on August 1st and 2nd. Here’s a brief rundown of the first of the 2-night conflagration of fan emotions.

Roskilde Festival in Denmark is More Than a Festival, It's An Experience

Over 8 days, 100,000 passionate music lovers got together to experience music, camping culture, art, community, charity and sustainability at the Roskilde Festival. There were different zones around the festival including: street city, graffiti zone, art zone and Dream City. Roskilde Festival is about 30 kilometers from Denmark's capital, Copenhagen, and after being built, this temporary city becomes the 4th largest in Denmark. Although I only attended one day, I couldn't help but get swept up in the vibe...

Live Review: RBC Bluesfest in Ottawa Day Nine ft. Bahamas + Dropkick Murphys + Dear Rouge and more! (17.07.15)

Though Friday marked the ninth day (of eleven) of the 21st RBC Bluesfest in Ottawa, it would also mark our last. And with a focus on bands more suited to a traditional Bluesfest - accompanied by the sort of rainy weather that our own Byron Bay Bluesfest is famous for - it was a perfect way to bring our week at the event to an end.

Day Eight of RBC Bluesfest in Ottawa saw a strong focus upon major country acts like Keith Urban, whilst also treating us to blues, indie pop and indie rock with the likes of Donovan Woods, Mother Mother, Hilotrons and Lurrie Bell putting on impressive shows. As the festival saw a much larger influx of cowboy hats and checkered shirts (bringing back some major Calgary Stampede nostalgia), it can easily be said that a vast quantity of the crowd were out for their dose of Nashville style country music.

Live Review: RBC Bluesfest in Ottawa Day Seven ft. The Gaslight Anthem + Current Swell + Run The Jewels and more! (15.07.15)

Photo: Run The Jewels. Captured by Mark Horton.

North American Hip Hop was a dominating force on the 7th day of the RBC Bluesfest in Ottawa, though a last minute cancellation from De La Soul may have disappointed some (this writer included! They always put on a great show). US powerhouse Run The Jewels, Canadian rapper , local MC G. Grand (who filled in for De La Soul) and Montreal duo Heartstreets all showed off their take on the genre to great response. Alongside them were modern blues icons, one of Canada's biggest pop rock bands, a Scottish group playing their first show in eight months and one of Canada's finest psych rock bands.

Travel Feature: The Top Five Towns to Visit in Europe (That You’ve Probably Never Heard Of)

Being an Australian overseas leaves you target for long open-ended conversation with two types of people – those who love Australia and haven’t been, and those who love Australia and have been. However, when I hear someone say they’ve been to Oz, and then proceed to tell me they saw Sydney and Melbourne – for five days a piece no less – the same thought always crosses my mind. That’s not the real Australia. Immediately town names are flying through my head of places to recommend should they ever get back to the land down under, so they can see the ‘real’ Australia.
