P&O Cruises become first cruise line to build a new ship specifically for the Australian market

P&O Cruises have just announced the history-making milestone in becoming the first cruise line to build a new ship solely for the Australian market. Weighing in at an incredible 135,500 tonnes and measuring at 323 metres long, this ship will be the largest ever to be based full time here in Australian waters. It will house more than 4,200 passengers in 2,100 guest rooms, which remarkably is double the current capacity of cruise vessels.

Renowned venue The Argyle in The Rocks has announced a big trio of parties spread across this month, all designed after iconic beach locations around the world. Taking place over three big weekends, each party will draw inspiration from either Rio, Miami, and Ibiza as they transform the unique hot spot into a medley of thick deck chairs, palm trees, and beach balls.

There's going to be some serious eating to do at Sydney Festival's 40th anniversary this year as some of the city's best and most innovative food outlets spread out over the festival's four separate entertainment hubs, from Parramatta to Barangaroo, and of course Hyde Park. Everything from Gelato Messina's carnival candy inspired creations and gelato doughnut treats to popcorn shrimp wraps by Saké Restaurant & Bar will be available for the duration of the festival, from 7th to 26th January.
