MORE INFO ABOUT THIS ARTIST AND TOUR:
Optus and Michael Coppel are proud to present Rihanna live in concert around Australia this summer in her ‘LAST GIRL ON EARTH’ tour.
The iconic multi-platinum, multi-award winning global megastar, Rihanna will make her highly anticipated return to Australia in February and March 2011 for her first shows here since 2008.
Tickets go on general public sale at 9am Friday August 20, with pre-sales commencing August 9.
Rihanna, currently on tour in the US after a sold out European tour, will bring with her full World Tour production, featuring an incredible near two-hour show featuring multiple impressive theatrical production and set changes, a full band, acrobats, dancers and outrageous outfits - delivering the massive tracks from throughout her four album career.
In November of last year Rihanna dropped her fourth studio album R Rated. As with previous albums, R Rated houses hit after hit. First up the Ne-Yo penned Russian Roulette, followed by ARIA #1 Rude Boy, Te-Amo and Rockstar 101. R Rated has so far sold more than 2.5 million copies worldwide.
Two years after signing to Def Jam Records, in 2007 Rihanna delivered the worldwide multi-platinum smash album Good Girl Gone Bad, home to one of her catchiest and most successful singles Umbrella (featuring Jay-Z), plus Shut Up and Drive, Hate That I Love You (featuring Ne-Yo), and Don't Stop the Music. Later repackaged, Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded (2009) gave us #1 Take A Bow, and #1 Disturbia.
Good Girl Gone Bad was Rihanna’s third studio album, prior releases being debut Music of the Sun featuring favourite Pon de Replay and A Girl Like Me featuring hits SOS and Unfaithful.
All up, the 22-year-old Rihanna has spent more weeks at #1 on the ARIA singles chart than ANY OTHER female artist in the last decade.
This week again Rihanna sits atop of the ARIA single chart again, featuring on Eminem’s Love The Way You Lie. Last week fans at LA’s Staples Center brought the roof down when Eminem made a surprise appearance on stage for the current ARIA #1 hit.
