Audacious Melbourne songstress Paris Wells is releasing the first taste of her upcoming sophomore album.

The new single, Through and Through gives listeners the first glimpse into what can be expected on her highly-anticipated follow-up to 2008’s Keep It. The track is a fierce bite of disco-soul, hinting at a more electro-infused evolution from her debut album’s emphasis on more organic soul and funk. Through and Through is available digitally from August 20th.

“I love electronic music. My passion for electronic and beat music is equal to my passion for vintage sounds and instruments,” Paris explained recently. Her new album, entitled Various Small Fires, is scheduled for release on October 15th through Illusive.

After a whirlwind journey in support of her last album which saw her appear at festivals like Big Day Out, Good Vibrations and Falls Festival, Paris will soon return for her first solo shows in close to a year. She will headline shows at Melbourne’s The Toff on September 21st and 28th and Sydney’s Raval on September 23rd and 30th respectively.
