7 Dreamcast games we want to see on mobiles / iOS!

Poor Sega. They have been the game industry's continued proof that just because you have the best hardware - or are the first through the gates - doesn't mean you're going to be the one to succeed. The superior Game Gear - with backlighting and colour gameplay - was beaten by a black and white, non-backlit console called the Game Boy. And then there was the Dreamcast - the first console to be released after the 64-bit era - that in the end, couldn't beat the might of Sony's Playstation 2, the surprise entry of Microsoft into the territory or even the underrated Gamecube.

VideAU Beta PC First Impressions: S.W.A.P. Subterfuge Weapons Assessment Program (Chaos Theory Games, 2014)

Well the title fits the gameplay, the mood and the action, but is it all this game can do?

VideAU Games PC Review: Jazzpunk (Necrophone Games, 2014)

Jazzpunk approaches the mythical space of otherworldly Jazz fusion, and the obscurity of the grungiest punk band in its execution – it doesn’t fit the mold. It’s not much of anything, not a puzzler, not a shooter, not a genre, all it has is its first person perspective without the guns. It approaches an obscurity of a Berlin art gallery, the unexpected humour of Benny Hills or Airplane, and the self-congratulatory feel of Monty Python’s sketches. This is definitely a genre that’s a mismatch, a jumble, an utter abomination of what is a polished game. And that’s exactly what Jazzpunk should be, a shambling, glorious mess.

VideAU Games PC Review: Octodad: Deadliest Catch (Young Horses, 2014)

Octodad: Deadliest Catch is inspired, mark my tentacles. In its control scheme, in its audacity, by the overwhelming charm it brings to your day.

VideAU Games PC Review: Broken Age (Double Fine, 2014)

There’s the familiar pace and point n’click heft to the game as you search for an item or person to interact with. There’s a wonderment in line with the youth of the protagonists. As though each yells out “let’s have an adventure!” And expects the universe to immediately do a backflip for them to rebound off. And it does, oh so carefully, happen in Double Fine’s Broken Age.
