The 13 Best Music Videos of 2013!

We’ve taken a bit of time getting this one together – what a year it was! – but we finally bring you our annual look back at the best videos of 2013. This year we have a mix of local and international, with a dose of interactive experiences thrown in for good measure. Enjoy this trip down memory lane…

13. Flight Facilities “Stand Still” (Feat. Mickey Green)

There’s something so innocent about the curiosity of a child. While the song speaks of heartbreak, the video revels in nostalgia, suburban wanderings and blissful ignornce. – Antigone Anagnostellis

12. Foals “My Number”

11. Steering by Stars “Oil and Blood”

Broody and haunting sounds with a chilling slasher movie style video clip… – John Goodridge.

10. Beyoncé “Flawless”

9. FIDLAR “Cocaine” (NSFW)

Nick Offerman is my hero. A very entertaining clip… so ridiculous. – Larry Heath

8. Dune Rats “Red Light Green Light” (Green Version)

Easily one of the most talked about clips of the year. Though I have to say I loved the Red Version just as much. – Larry Heath

7. The National “Sea Of Love”

To realise its genius, watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FyCsJAj69sc

6. Childish Gambino “3005”

5. James Blake “Overgrown”

This dark, ominous feeling throughout the entire video lurks like the haunting keys which wrap the pulsating bass. Hooded ghosts follow Blake around while he admires the majestic sights of a sun-starved island, complementing his bone-chilling vocals in this melancholic anthem. – Chris Singh

4. Flume & Chet Faker “Drop the Game”

3. Queens of the Stone Age – “The Vampyr of Time and Memory”

Though for the full, interactive experience, head HERE. Anyone fancy a game of MYST all of a sudden?

2. Solange “Lovers in the Parking Lot”

Solange glows in this film clip – from the outfits to the quirky dancing, it’s clear that the younger Knowles sister definitely marches to the beat of her own drum. – Sosefina Fuamoli

1. Janelle Monae ft. Erykah Badu “Q.U.E.E.N”

I love the monochrome and the costuming/fashion. Janelle and Erykah are incredibly strong performers on their own and having them collaborate make for some truly excellent music. The clip is as sharp as the lyrics and really amps the cool, striking nature that “Q.U.E.E.N” promotes with it’s title and artist listing in the first place. – Sosefina Fuamoli
