Gettin' to know our 6th Birthday Bands: All Our Exes Live in Texas (Sydney)

Tonight, we celebrate the 6th birthday of our website with a free event in Sydney, with Service Bells and All Our Exes Live In Texas performing alongside DJ sets from Smiles Again (Mind Over Matter), Bhanglassi and more! We took a moment ahead of the party to get to know All Our Exes Live in Texas, by way of Katie Wighton:

Who we are:
We are Hannah Crofts, Georgia Mooney, Elana Stone and Katie Wighton.

How we came together:
A friend of ours told us we should start a band to play at a Country Roads night at the start of last year. So Georgia bought a mandolin and we gave it a red hot go. We thought it would be fun and actually thought we’d only play the one show but it didn’t quite work out that way – thankfully!!

We Sound Like:
A bunch of ladies singing in 4-part harmony, throw in a mandolin, accordion, ukelele and guitar, and a sprinkling of weird banter for good measure…

We would love to play with:
We are a bit in love with the Wainwright/McGarrigle family so it would be a dream to play with someone from that clan at some point in our lives. Albeit a pipe dream…! We also love First Aid Kit, Laura Marling and Gillian Welch/Dave Rawlings. 🙂

Here is a song from our first EP called “Our Love Won’t Die”. Keep an eye out for the new single “Tell Me” on our bandcamp soon too!

All Our Exes Live in Texas play our 6th birthday party tonight in Sydney for FREE. They hit the stage at 8.30pm. For more details about the event, head here: https://www.theaureview.com/party
