Foals and Bloc Party lead the first artist announcement for the Falls & Southbound festivals!

Now that Splendour in the Grass is over for another year, Australian festival goers can now look ahead to the next major run of festivals coming up over the New Year period and for 2015, the crew behind the Falls and Southbound festivals have delivered a pretty slick line up of artists set to bring in your New Year right. Southbound announces dates for 2016 event, including extra night of programming in 'Friday Night Fever'!

It can be a pain in the ass trying to make the pilgrimage to your fave festival spot battling the dreaded crawl of traffic on the first day. The good crew behind WA's Southbound Festival have taken this into consideration for the 2016 event and have set up a whole extra night of programming to both alleviate the numbers coming in on the traditional Saturday, but to also get the party started early. Now, approximately 50% of Southbound festival goers will be able to get their hands on tickets that will allow them to get on to the site first, set up camp and kick their Southbound Festival off proper.

It's not long now before Cold War Kids return to Australia for another dose of summer festivals and headline shows. The Californians, who will be touring their new album Hold My Home as well as their four studio album swag of material, have been keeping things busy since their last major Australian visit (Splendour, 2013), but to chat with Nathan Willett about everything in their camp at the moment, he's very chilled out, agreeing, "We're doing well, but we've been very busy."

He's currently in Australia to kick off his tour for the record, playing Falls Festival, Southbound and sideshows in Sydney and Melbourne next week. Just before the end of the year, we spoke to James about the album, his return to Australia and more...

One of the country's favourite visitors in The Wombats, will be making their return to spend New Year's with us! Live Review: Southbound Festival: Day 2 - Sir Stewart Bovell Park, Busselton (05.01.13)

The second day of the Southbound festival saw temperatures rise well past the coolness of the first day and had the majority of festival goers opting for the shade of the Share Stage.

Live Review: Southbound Festival: Day 1 - Sir Stewart Bovell Park, Busselton (04.01.13)

Another year, another Southbound Festival and despite predictions of the opposite, attendance was up on last year, with the vast majority of the attendees opting to camp on site for the weekends festivities. Though this years line-up may not have been at its most buzz-worthy, it was still a fine collection of acts over the two days, with just enough variety to keep everybody happy.
