Watch M Phazes and Thief join Penelope Austin to cover the Kasey Chambers and Bernard Fanning track "Bittersweet"

Last Tuesday saw the annual tradition of the APRA Music Awards hit Sydney, a celebration of the Australian music which has made the biggest impact at home and around the globe over the past 12 months. Thanks to a special between Moshcam and APRA, the "Song of the Year" live performances were recorded and streamed, seeing the tracks covered by some of the nation's most talented musicians. The fourth video in this series sees M Phazes and Thief join Penelope Austin to cover the Kasey Chambers and Bernard Fanning track "Bittersweet":

Watch Jimmy Barnes and Diesel perform a cover of Sia's "Chandelier" at the 2015 APRA Awards

Next up, we have one of the more surprising tracks of the night - Jimmy Barnes and Diesel joining forces to perform a cover of the track that won the award, Sia's "Chandelier".

Watch Thelma Plum, Andy Bull and members of Art vs Science cover Dan Sultan's "Kimberley Calling"

Talk about taking a great song and making it something even more special - Thelma Plum and Andy Bull - with the help of the Dans from Art vs Science managed to do just that, delivering a stunning cover of Dan Sultan's "Kimberley Calling" at the APRA Awards earlier this week in Sydney. The song was one of the five tracks nominated for Song of the Year. The award eventually went to Sia for "Chandelier" - though given this rendition, not to mention the original itself, we reckon he was robbed! Be prepared to play on repeat...

Watch Lisa Mitchell and Jake Clemons perform Sheppard's "Geronimo" at the 2015 APRA Awards

Earlier this week at the APRA Awards - which took place at Carriageworks in Sydney - artists joined together for unique collaborations to cover the songs that were nominated for APRA Song of the Year. It's an annual tradition at the Awards and it's always an entertaining and unique part of the night. We'll be posting all the performances from the event, thanks to Moshcam, and first up we have Lisa Mitchell and Jake Clemons performing Sheppard's "Geronimo". The result completely re-imagines the popular track:

Sheppard, Dan Sultan, 5SOS and Sia lead 2015 APRA Music Award nominations with multiple nods!

Today, the 2015 APRA Music Award nominees were announced, with some Australian songwriters emerging as particular hot contenders, nabbing multiple nominations. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the likes of Sia and 5 Seconds of Summer jumped off the page, both with three nominations to their name, while the Brisbane pop juggernaut that has become Sheppard lead the pack at four nom's.

Chet Faker, Augie March, Hilltop Hoods and more shortlisted for the APRA Music Awards!

The nominees for the 2015 APRA Music Awards were announced today, with the Sydney event set to celebrate some of the country's best at Carriageworks in March. The shortlisted artists for the prestigious Song Of The Year Award will be whittled down to five finalists, the winner of which will be announced at the ceremony on March 24th. Hosted by Brian Nankervis again this year, the event will also be joined by APRA Music Awards Director Robert Conley, who will be curating the live peformances on the night.

Single Stream: Jeezy Featuring Kendrick Lamar "Holy Ghost (Remix)" (2014)

Fresh off the release of his fifth studio album Seen It All: The Autobiography, ATL rap heavyweight (Young) Jeezy has given into demand and linked up with Compton's Kendrick Lamar for a lyric-focused remix of "Holy Ghost". It's no surprise here that the two emcees work well together, with Jeezy's intimate verses kept in tact while Kendrick adds his characteristically head-spinning flurry to make for one of the year's best hip-hop remixes.

Vance Joy awarded "Song of the Year" and Sia wins "Songwriter of the Year" for the second time at the 2014 APRA Awards!

The 2014 APRA Music Awards winners were announced in Brisbane last night - the first time the prestigious awards have been held in the city. Vance Joy took out the coveted Song Of The Year Award with the ukelele soaked "Riptide", also taking home Best Pop Song for the same. And for a record-breaking second year in a row, Sia took out the gong for Songwriter Of The Year. Unfortunately neither artist was present at the awards, though both provided us with acceptance videos which you can see later in the article, and Sia's Mum was on hand to collect the circular trophy.

APRA (Australasian Performing Rights Association) held their annual awards ceremony in Sydney last night, celebrating a variety of composers and songwriters and their material from over the last year. Unsurprisingly, it was Gotye who went on to scoop up three APRA Awards, including APRA Song of the Year for the worldwide smash, "Somebody That I Used To Know".

Below is the full list of winners from the 2012 Awards, congratulations!

Live Video: Papa Vs Pretty cover "Big Jet Plane" at APRA Awards 2011

Holy crap!

This afternoon Papa Vs Pretty uploaded a cover of Angus & Julia Stone's "Big Jet Plane" on their Facebook page, and it has blown my mind (along with everyone else's) like no other track has done in a very, very long time.
