
Adelaide born, Melbourne obsessed, cabaret songstress Anya Anastasia is set to take over the beautiful Melba Spiegeltent for the world premiere season of the darkly humourous, seductive and dangerously witty TORTE E MORT: Songs of Cake and Death. As part of Melbourne Fringe Festival 2015, TORTE E MORT will run for a strictly limited season from Wednesday September 16, until Sunday 20.

Festival season is almost upon us, and the first major event signalling the start of the festival calendar will be the brand new, hotly anticipated circus themed dance event Electro Circus, to be held at Rosehill Gardens in Sydney’s West on Saturday September 5th.
Confusion for Three is a new work by Melbourne choreographer Jo Lloyd (Future Perfect, 2013), where hypnotic tension is generated by three dancers as they negotiate a progressively unravelling system of choreography. Navigating their recent and distant physical histories from traces of folk dance to idiosyncratic body rhythms, the performers reveal a series of desperate encounters in a destabilising flood of movement.
From acclaimed playwright Jane Bodie come two acutely observed one-act plays that delve into the heart of modern relationships. Darlinghurst Theatre Company presents Ride & Fourplay from 4 September to 4 October at Eternity Playhouse.
Nominees for Time Out Sydney's Food Awards, which celebrate the best restaurants, chefs and food trends in Sydney, have been announced. Winners will be revealed at the Awards ceremony on Monday 24 August at Sean Connolly's oyster and ale house The Morrison.
