Japanese Film Festival Announce 2015 Sydney Program

The Japanese Film Festival (JFF) has announced the program for the Sydney leg of its 2015 national tour. Running from November 5 to 15 at Event Cinemas George St and Parramatta, and is set to once again bring the finest of Japanese culture to Australian cinemas.

Our Times (我的少女時代) hits $NTD3 billion at the box office - actor Wang Da Lu strips as promised

For those of you who haven’t heard of the latest Taiwanese movie craze sweeping the nation, let me fill you in. With a storyline reminiscent of 2011 Taiwanese blockbuster The apple of my eye 那些年我們一起追的女孩, Our Times 我們的少女時代 is set in a similar 1980s-esque era in a Taiwanese high school. The flick follows the bittersweet love story of a plain jane (Vivian Sung) who in the process of chasing after the school’s pretty boy (Dino Lee) ends up falling for resident bad boy (Wang Da Lu) instead. Sound familiar?

Hello Asia! New Music Video: Sekai no Owari - SOS (Japan, 2015)

Japanese indie band Sekai no Owari has released the PV for ‘SOS’. Sung completely in English, ‘SOS’ is also the theme song for the new live-action ‘Shingeki no Kyojin ATTACK ON TITAN End of the World’ film. Directed by Tamukai Jun, who has previously worked with them for the PVs of ‘ANTI-HERO’, ‘RPG’ and more, the video features the group in a dystopian black and white world, accompanied by a mysterious colourful creature. Japanese band One OK Rock have released their new PV for ‘Last Dance’, in an exclusive collaboration with Alternative Press. The song comes from their American debut album ‘35xxxv-Deluxe Edition-’, to be released on September 25.
