Bali's Potato Head Beach Club to host Music and Cocktails festival with Ellie Goulding, Azealia Banks, and more

World-renowned venue Potato Head Beach Club, owned and operated by Indonesia's internationally acclaimed hospitality and entertainment group PTT Family, will join forces with Ismaya Live, the group behind the legendary Djakarta Warehouse Project, to host the inaugural Sunny Side Up music festival on 20th August 2014, bringing in both big-name international musicians and local artists.

Heading up the impressive contingent will be none other than indie-pop darling Ellie Goulding, leading a charge rounded out by fiery Harlem emcee Azealia Banks, L.A producer Goldroom, DJ Jessie Andrews, the eclectic Remix Artist Collective, and more.

In addition, Sunny Side Up will be much more than a music festival, bringing a large focus to world-class mixology and one-of-a-kind cocktails. The festival will be a first for Bali, with it's combination of cocktails and music, paired with the iconic location.

Sunny Side Up will showcase the talents of not only some of the finest artists in the genres of pop, rap and electronic music but also a roster of award-winning bartenders from around the world.

Famed for its eclectic entertainment line up and legendary summer parties Potato Head Beach Club, a complex containing three restaurants, a beachfront bar and a 500-sq meter lawn leading to an infinity pool overlooking the azure Indian Ocean, has become a ‘must-visit’ for Bali. Known not only for its iconic location and unique architecture, the Beach Club is renowned for its fine food and world-class cocktails.

As befits a location such as this, the drinks on offer during Sunny Side Up will bear no relation to the offering normally found at a music festival. In addition to bartenders from legendary bars flown in from around the world, Sunny Side Up will see unique collaborations between musicians and mixologists creating bespoke cocktails only available during the event. Not only will the musicians design specific cocktails, but guests at the festival will also have the unique opportunity to be served drinks actually mixed by some of the award winning musical artists, a true marriage of the two art forms.

The full line up will be released in the weeks leading up to the event, but here's a quick breakdown of the stellar cast of musicians so far:

Ellie Goulding

Having sold an estimated 4 million albums and 15 million singles worldwide this British pop singer songwriter has created a sensation since arriving on the music scene only five years ago. Amongst her many accolades are the prestigious Brit Awards ‘Critics Choice’ award, a number one single and album and the Brit Award for ‘Best Female’ in 2014.

Azealia Banks

Signed to XL records at only 17 years old, Harlem-born Azealia Banks is a singer and songwriter, best known for her rap artistry. Signed to legendary record label Polydor in 2011, that year also saw her named as number one in the iconic music magazine NME’s ‘Cool List’. Having worked with the Scissor Sisters, Pharrell, Kanye West and Lady Gaga her first studio album will debut this summer.

Born out of Los Angeles synthpop trio NightWaves, Goldroom is Josh Legg’s solo effort and production alias. An amalgamation of dreamy synths, emotive vocals, and tropical disco grooves, Goldroom paints the soundscape of summertime in Los Angeles.

Jessie Andrews

Perhaps best known for her previous work in LA’s adult film industry, Jessie Andrews is something of a phenomenon. Having quickly made a name for herself in the female only adult film world, she then went on to create her own jewellery line and model for the likes of American Apparel. Since 2012 she has risen to prominence in the world of DJing, remixing songs and performing all over the United States, Canada and Europe. Sunny Side Up marks her music festival and Bali debut.

Remix Artist Collective (RAC)

The Remix Artist Collective was created in January 2007 by André Allen Anjos with partners Andrew Maury and Karl Kling. RAC has been building an empire of indie remix favorites and a quickly growing, word-of-mouth following having remixed notable artists such as Kings of Leon, Lana Del Rey, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Two Door Cinema Club. Unlike many electronic remixes, which are commonly technical and precise, the RAC mixes embody a unique aesthetic based around emotion and nuance, an almost intangible warmth and innate playfulness.
