A festival committed to bringing about informative panels for those involved in the music industry and to arranging a huge selection of live shows across New York City, it’s easy to get lost in the intense yet rewarding schedule of CMJ.

A Year At Sea is the debut album from Sydney’s Winter People. Released on the 21st September the album is a real delight; a sophisticated synergy of the styles, with a rich modern approach rubbing shoulders with more traditional folk sensibilities. For a debut album it’s really quite ambitious, with moody atmospherics and swirling instrumentation.

Having just finished a national tour with Loon Lake Sydney group Glass Towers are venturing out again for their own headlining tour in September and October. Along for the ride will be the new single, ‘Tonight’ off their forthcoming EP ‘Collarbone’ also due out in September through HUB label (Dappled Cities, Winter People). Busy boys indeed; catch them around the country soon.

The folk behind the Harvest Festival have some great news to unveil this afternoon. Not only have they scheduled a SECOND Melbourne show as a result of the initial Melbourne leg of the festival selling out, but the organisers have today released the next round of artists due to appear on their stages at the end of the year!
Check out the list of bands set to join the likes of Beck, Sigur Ros and Santigold below.

Sydney's Winter People are set to release their debut album, A Year At Sea, next month, and have also announced a national tour in support of it! The record follows on from the band's popular single "Gallons", which went on to spawn the acclaimed EP and national tour earlier in the year. Since forming in 2010, Winter People have become a band adored by many at home in Australia and overseas.

We celebrated our 4th Birthday in style with a night celebrating the music of The Beatles at the Oxford Art Factory! Members of Dappled Cities, Deep Sea Arcade, City Riots, Regular John, Cameras, Lime Cordiale, Guineafowl and Chance Waters with Lilian Blue were among the artists to feature on the night.

Delivering a strong set at the Oxford Art Factory on Thursday night, it was perfectly clear that Winter People is made up of a truly talented bunch of musicians. An up-and-coming Sydney based five piece that merges folk with rock, Winter People have an admirable ability to play music that is at once tender and powerful. Supported by two other local acts also beginning to make waves in the music scene, Battleships and Caitlin Park, we were certainly treated to an impressive night of music.

A jam packed week with limited editions, tour editions, anniversary editions, new releases, EPs - everything you can think of. The Madden twins announce an upcoming album project, a tour edition release from Kimbra, Motion City Soundtrack, Blur, Sampology and Hot Chip.
