Weezer announce first Australian tour in 16 years; will play "The Blue Album" in full!

Great news or greatest news? Last seen in Australia 16 years ago, the iconic Californian group Weezer will finally be returning to our shores for one hell of a special performance. As though to say “we’re sorry for our absence”, they will be performing everyone’s favourite* Weezer record in FULL: The Blue Album. They also promise a greatest hits and rarities set to accompany it.

Weezer will play four Australian shows in January, starting at Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Sunday 13th January, Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne on Wednesday 16th January, Sydney Entertainment Centre on Saturday 19th January, and Perth Arena on Wednesday 23rd January.

Tickets go on sale on Thursday, 26th July at 9am.

Given this tour is by being put on by Chugg Entertainment, we would hesitate to guess that even though the dates are conveniently close to the Big Day Out, these shows will be the only chance you have to see the band – e.g. they won’t be playing Big Day Out. But we could be surprised yet… stay tuned on that front!

*Well, our favourite, at least.
