Music Video of the Day: Vance Joy "The Fire and the Flood" (2015)

Vance Joy has released a new single and film clip in "The Fire and The Blood" - a perfect way to start getting fans a little excited for his upcoming return tour of the country with some American songbird at the end of the year. It's been a little while since we've seen Vance but you know, when you're spending the majority of your time dominating stages overseas, I think we can let the absence slide.

Seven reasons why we can't wait for the Calgary Stampede

With history and tradition that stems back to the late 1800s, the Calgary Stampede is one of the world's longest running events. Part rodeo, part exhibition, part Easter Show-esque carnival, part music festival, the Stampede kicked off in Calgary, Alberta, Canada today, starting an impressive ten day event that will bring in over a million attendees from Canada and around the world. We're excited that we'll be part of the latter category next week, bringing you exclusive coverage of the event for the first time. And, as we work to get excited about it all (believe me, it's not hard), we're letting you in on the seven reasons we can't wait for the festival.

Live Review: Vance Joy + #1 Dads + Airling – Thebarton Theature, Adelaide (21.03.15)

Vance Joy

Every teenage girl’s heart-throb Vance Joy was welcomed to Thebarton Theatre by house full of screaming pre-teens (cheers to all ages gigs, huh) and their fathers as part of his Dream Your Life Away tour.

Opening for Joy was last year's national Unearthed Splendour in the Grass winner Airling. By now we know what we’re going to get with Airling - a vibrating mix of electronic and drum beats propelling her ethereal vocals over the crowd like a haze. And boy, what a set of pipes she has. Fun fact: she’s the cousin of acoustic guitar-toting Jack Carty who you should definitely check out also.

the AU interview at the Falls Festival 2014: Vance Joy (Melbourne) talks festivals and more backstage at Lorne!

Photo: John Goodridge

One of the big drawcards for a lot of Falls Festival punters on New Year's Eve was James Keogh, aka Vance Joy. The recipient of huge amounts of success through 2014 off the back of "Riptide" and the Mess Is Mine debut album which then achieved Gold status, Vance Joy is a name which quickly spread in international markets as well as through the Australian music fan base. Performing to a large crowd at Lorne on December 31st must've been a sweet way to wrap up what's been one hell of a year, but before he took to the stage, James sat down with Bridget backstage to have a quick chat.

As the sun rose on a perfect final day of the Falls Festival, weary punters headed to the valley in anticipation of another great day of music. Alt-J, The Presets and Safia were just a few of the standouts on the day. Our photographer John Goodridge brings you these photos from the final day.

Festival Review: Falls Festival Day Four ft. Vance Joy + Bluejuice + The Presets - Lorne, Victoria (31.12.14)

It was as if the gods suddenly looked down on the Lorne site of the 2014 Falls Festival and told each other, 'You know what? They've suffered enough with the rain.' - the clouds disappeared for our New Year's Eve in the forest and the temperature rose considerably, a perfect atmosphere for our final day at the festival. Moods were high (weed was probably helping in that regard, too) and the music was totally fitting as one's soundtrack to the end of the year.
