TV on the Radio, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Mogwai and more added to November's Harvest

More great news for discerning music fans!

The upcoming ‘Harvest’ music and arts festival (taking place in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne in November), today unveils new artists joining the already stellar line-up of in Portishead, The National, The Flaming Lips, Bright Eyes, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Holy Fuck, The Family Stone, Mercury Rev, Death In Vegas, The Walkmen, Dappled Cities, PVT, This Town Needs Guns, The Holidays, Phosphorescent, Foxy Shazam, and Kormac’s Big Band.

Playing their first Australian shows in three years are experimental New Yorkers TV ON THE RADIO who meld post-punk, soul and elements of psychedelic free jazz to incredible effect. With their new album, Nine Types of Light, released earlier this year, the band are making headlines and wowing fans all over again. Something they’d be used to following the flurry of acclaim they received when their previous release, 2008’s Dear Science was named album of the year by Rolling Stone, The Guardian, Spin Magazine, MTV, Pitchfork Media’s reader’s poll, and The Village Voice Pazz and Jop critic’s poll!

Also joining are awe-inspiring, mountainous Scottish post-rockers MOGWAI. A favourite of Australian audiences, the band’s 2011 album, Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will, continues their breathtaking reign and is described as “still insanely loud” (Rolling Stone), as containing “epic, frequently breathtaking constructions” (Spin Magazine) along with “some of their most affecting tunes since the early singles, instrumental parts coiling around each other in graceful, liquid polyphony” (Uncut).

Artful indie pop sensations CLAP YOUR HANDS SAY YEAH will be here hot on the back of the September release of their 3rd LP, Hysterical. Their last LP, Some Loud Thunder, was lovingly described as “gloriously shambolic” (Playlouder), full of “rich, multi-layered weirdness” (The Guardian), “ecstatic” (BBC online), and “fantastic” (Pitchfork Media).

Bringing a touch of the Dylanesque troubadour to Harvest is KEVIN DEVINE. Devine is almost unique amongst his contemporary singer songwriters in his genius ability to display his heart on his sleeve without ever coming across as disingenuous or cynical. “When he sings about love, faith, and other weighty subjects in that sweetly tender way, you just want to give him an encouraging noogie” (Spin Magazine, a publication not known for “encouraging noogies”)

Last but not least, Harvest is pleased to announce the addition of Australian organic electronica wunderkinds SEEKAE. The band have been making waves in 2011 with the release of their brilliant second album +Dome, and have just sold out their biggest headline shows to date in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Today’s bands join the previously announced gathering of the planet’s most outstanding and unique artists and performers.

Naturally enough tickets are selling fast – so get to it and don’t miss out!
