One of the world's top ten music festivals revealed their first round of artists this week! The Port Fairy Folk Festival for 2012 will mark their 35th year, and have got a legendary line-up to celebrate.
So without further ado, the first round consists of:
International Artists
Abigail Washburn - USA
ahab - UK
April Verch & Band - Canada
Beoga - Ireland
Ben Sollee – USA
Chris While & Julie Matthews – UK
Eric Bibb & Staffan Astner – USA/Sweden

Six-foot frontwoman Emily Lubitz with her flaming red hair and a voice-to-drown-in calls out as guitarist Jesse Lubitz thumps up dust from the floor of the stage. Imagine Edith Piaf in the body of Mrs Jessica Rabbit, wandering through a landscape of suburban fairy tales and electric static clouds. The drums rumble, the organ whirrs and up over the top of everything floats Alex Burkoy’s achingly beautiful violin.

Time flies by. It feels like yesterday that I was treated to The Storm In A Teacup. A collaboration of six different bands who interconnect in all different ways. Let me start from the end of the night with each musician together at once. From then on, I can describe how your favourite songs were tuned and tinkered with throughout the two hour set.

Tinpan Orange, Jordie Lane, Husky, Jen Cloher, Harry Angus and Liz Martin feature in a collaboration called Storm In A Teacup that performed at Factory Theatre on a cold Friday night.
