Album Review: Tin Sparrow - Shoelace Ring (2014 EP)

Following a long musical hiatus, pop-folk band Tin Sparrow have returned with their third EP, Shoelace Ring. A change in line-up triggered the Sydney-siders to take a step back and remind themselves who they are, taking it back to basics. The end product is an encouraging rediscovery of their roots paired with a rejuvenated energy and fresh outlook on life.

Photo Gallery: The A-Z of BIGSOUND 2014 (Part two)

Photographer Johnny Au takes us to BIGSOUND in Brisbane with an A-Z of the best performances he captured from the week. In Part Two, we take you from Canada's Mise en Scene to Brisbane's own WAAX. It was a night that included an array of different music genres ranging from loud hard rockers WAAX and punk act The Bennies, to the soothing soft vocals of Airling, to some country/folk tunes by the Pierce Brothers while Art Of Sleeping and Tin Sparrow brought us some sweet indie pop tunes.

the AU interview at Festival Of The Sun: Tin Sparrow (Sydney)

Indie Folk act Tin Sparrow hail from Sydney and play sweet songs together, a lot. They like to do it so much that they opened this year's Festival Of The Sun, and we truly loved it. El had a drink with the whole gang, a merry bunch.

Live Review: Festival Of The Sun - Port Macquarie (14 and 15.12.12)

This years Festival Of The Sun saw itself through with brilliant weather and plenty of crowd pleasers. Held at the Sundowner Tourist Park at Port Macquarie’s Breakwall Beach, the festival stage was about 50m from the shoreline and the ground full of sand – genius construction as feet on this terrain are able to dance wilder and stand stronger through performances.

Live Review: BIGSOUND Live - Night 2 (13.09.12)

The night kicked off at The Zoo with Set Sail. The Sydney band absolutely blew me away! Another name randomly picked off a list, the band are indie pop at it’s finest. The three piece, with added bass, not only play stellar tunes, but are also well presented and put on one hell entertaining show.
