Theatre Review: Jesus Christ Superstar - Sydney Entertainment Centre, Sydney (07.06.13)

Jesus Christ Superstar is one of the most loved rock operas in history. Penned by the renowned Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, it was first staged on Broadway in 1971. The plot is based loosely on the Gospels’ accounts of the last week of Jesus’ life, and focuses on the struggle between Judas Iscariot and Jesus. The cleverness with which the plot has been portrayed has led it to become a favourite across all generations. This production of Jesus Christ Superstar, featuring Tim Minchin as Judas and Melanie C as Mary Magdalene, is an astoundingly creative production that deserves the hype surrounding it.

Live Review: Homebake Festival - The Domain (08.12.12)

Homebake 2012 was one of the most pleasant and courteous festival experiences I have ever had. Strange to describe it as courteous, sure, but crowd atmosphere is a big thing for me and this 'Global Edition' of Homebake held exactly that for its punters. Perhaps because the smaller turnout meant more grass area (suits me) or that the crowd seemed older... either way, the 'Global' aspect was definitely upheld by the fact that every single world cuisine was available, as well as of course the fact that from-the-other-side-of-the-globe Blondie was headlining; much of the assumed reason for an older crowd.

Sasquatch! Music Festival: Day Three feat. The Flaming Lips - The Gorge Amphitheatre, USA (29.05.11)

Covering an event like Sasquatch! requires a certain approach – given that it’s four days long, pacing for the sake of endurance is incredibly important. So, with two days of dense to-and-fro scheduling behind me, a conscious decision was made to slow down and give myself the time to truly absorb what day three had to offer.
