Debut Album Like What premieres on Facebook
Tim & Jean’s debut album Like What has premiered on Facebook this week. Beginning Tuesday 22 March, each day a new track is available to stream, every day for 10 days, with the entire album available to stream on the eve of their album release on Friday 1 April. Fans simply need to ‘like’ Tim & Jean on Facebook to access the pre-release album stream.
Anyone can be a bedroom producer these days, but very rarely do the results sound as assured, elaborate and downright infectious as Like What, the debut album from Tim & Jean. Careening exuberantly through its ten songs, it’s a record that effortlessly captures the euphoria of a damn good party whilst applying the sheen of sun-bleached nostalgia.
Throughout 2010, the triple j unearthed finalists were constantly on the road; performing at Future Music, Splendour in the Grass, Southbound, Laneway, Fat as Butter, Field Day and The Falls Festival, as well as touring with La Roux, Art V Science, Operator Please, Two Door Cinema Club, Franz Ferdinand and Moby. In February 2011 they toured with the Good Vibrations festival where Erykah Badu singled them out as one her favourite acts on the tour.
Tim and Jean have a lot of air miles ahead this year with the release of their debut album Like What and an Australian tour in April before heading to tour the UK and North America in May and June.
Melbourne fans can also catch Tim & Jean performing a few tracks at the Video Hits National Youth Week Concert at Birrarung Marr (north bank of the Yarra River near Federation Square) on Saturday 2 April from 1.00pm. The line-up also includes Jebediah and The Vines.
