Rebecca Houlden caught the magic that New York's MS MR brought to 170 Russell in Melbourne, supported by Tigertown and George Maple!

SXSW Live Music Review: The Aussie BBQ ft. The Delta Riggs, REMI, Steve Smyth & more - Brush Square Park (21.03.15)

The Aussie BBQ returned to Brush Square Park this year, the 2015 edition of the SXSW event bringing the likes of The Delta Riggs, Tigertown, Hiatus Kaiyote to two tents set up on the east and west sides of the park. While last year's Aussie BBQ battled the fire marshal, the main element set against us was the first big day of consistent rain in Austin this SXSW - the weather didn't hamper the mood much however, with the beers and BBQ food continuing to prove popular with those in attendance.

Over 200 new acts - including Tigertown - added to SXSW 2015!

It's only a little over two weeks until SXSW insanity kicks off, but still the artist announcements keep rolling in. In the latest round of additions, Sydney band Tigertown get the call up - the only Australians in this round - alongside over 200 international acts. MS MR, Charles Bradley, Milky Chance, and Hamilton Leithauser all feature. An interview with Wynonna Judd has also been added to the Music Conference.

Live Review: Half Moon Run + Tigertown + Nova Heart - The Standard, Sydney (11.01.14)

When announcing their 2014 Australian tour, Canada’s Half Moon Run said on their Facebook page that they were “thrilled to be returning to our home away from home”, and I think that sums up their sold out Standard gig’s vibe entirely. The love for this relatively new act was awesome to see, and their live show definitely lived up to, if not exceeded, the excited crowd’s expectations.

The day session of Day 2 of the sold out Festival of the Sun in Port Macquarie yesterday included artists such as Mustered Courage (who played a live session for us), Tigertown, Kaurna Cronin, D At Sea and The Basics (pictured above). Photos by Johnny Au.

The Festival Diaries: CMJ Day Five Ft The Preatures, Bored Nothing, Hermitude + More - New York City (19.10.13)

The last day is here. I write this in a state of both sadness and joy, because I have seen so many great bands perform in front of pretty enthusiastic crowds. NYC really likes to cheer and woo for their entertainment, and it’ll be something I really miss from this city. Then again, I’m sitting here from home writing this while relaxing with a pillow behind my head instead of some busy Starbucks or windy park. It’s a welcome respite.

The Festival Diaries: CMJ Day Three Ft Courtney Barnett, Real Estate, Tiny Ruins + More - New York City (17.10.13)

Staying up until 3am last night broke the record of staying up until 1am on the 16th October for me. The range of places that I went to varied insanely - too much probably. Going from living-room sized tiled rooms underneath restaurants to larger rooms that could fill hundreds of people was an experience and a half for a music lover like. But there was a downside, that being that my head was spinning, I'm getting a sore throat and I think I'm dying in one slow churning process because f it.

Live Review: BIGSOUND Live - Night 2 (12.09.13)

(crowd goes wild) Tonight will feature the likes of Hey Geronimo, Sheppard, The Jungle Giants, Dubmarine, Tigertown and the Melbourne Ska Orchestra, among others. However, let us begin with at Electric Playground.

Live Review: Tigertown + The Starry Field + Mountains - Black Bear Lodge, Brisbane (23.06.13)

Tigertown are an entity unto themselves. The five-piece boast luscious harmonies and a cleanly polished set. The Sydneysiders played to a sold out Black Bear Lodge for their 'What You Came Here For' National tour, which is already deserving of kudos!

Bastille announce two Australian shows in Melbourne and Sydney for August.

Bastille will be in Australia this August, performing two special gigs in Melbourne and Sydney! The multi-Platinum British artists have garnered quite the following in Australia, with their popular single "Pompeii" dominating charts, while the follow up in "Laura Palmer" is set to do the same, no doubt. Joining Bastille for these Australian dates is Sydney's Tigertown, who've enjoyed recent success touring with Bob Evans and embarking on headline shows on their own.
