Illy, Thundamentals, Jebediah and more to feature at 2015's Festival of the Sun festival this December!

Festival of the Sun celebrates its 11th year this year, taking over the Sundowner Breakwall Tourist Park in Port Macquarie on December 11th & 12th. Leading the artist announcement today are some of the country's favourites, Illy, Thundamentals and Jebediah, while the crew behind FOTSUN have also announced the inaugural Wabi Sabi night to proceedings this year.

Hip-hop artist, Tuka is a visionary musician with clear passion for what he does. Working on both solo project as well as being part of Blue Mountains based group, Thundamentals, it's clear that his upcoming new record, Life Death Time Eternal has explored his creativity without any limits or boundaries. the AU review's Larry Heath had the opportunity to speak with Tuka and here, he begins to explain the differences between working on his solo project and Thundamentals, explaining the emotional power his solo songs have brought to him as a musician.

Sarah Connor and Polish Club win Triple J's Unearthed competition for Come Together 2015!

Come Together 2015 is only a week away now and the announcements are keeping on coming, with the announcement of the Triple J Unearthed competition winners, release of set times and the news that weekend tickets have completely sold out! Featuring the likes of Ball Park Music, Thundamentals, Seth Sentry and more, the Sydney festival now only has single day passes available to the Luna Park event this June long weekend.

This Saturday, an impressive contingent of some of the country's best touring acts will fly north to spend the weekend in Darwin at the Bassinthegrass music festival. While the rest of us look ahead to the freezing winter section of the music calendar, Northern Territorians get to soak up some amazing live music in the tropical climate many are envious of. Instead of hooking you up with an artist's hit single to hype you Darwinians up for the festival, we take a look at the artists below and some their finer cuts from recent releases you should get around in the lead up to Saturday's event.

Thundamentals announce the "Elephant in the Room Tour" to kick off in March!

Thundamentals ain't stopping. Ever since the release of So We Can Remember, the trio embarked on a wildly successful album campaign which saw them play festival stages around the country and most recently, kick ass alongside the Hoods on their Australian tour. To mark the first anniversary of the album, Thundamentals have announced a headline tour of their own, the 'Elephant in the Room' tour, set to kick off in March and continue all the way through into May!

The year may have started off slow for hip hop in 2014, but this year has ended up giving us some excellent projects ranging from stunning, experimental debuts to some of the best one-producer albums we have seen in years. Some albums may not have one stand-out single, but surpass the competition when taken as a whole, hence the differences seen in our top hip hop and R&B tracks of 2014.

After an overcast day before the prospect of going to a gig on an exposed hill off the beaten track was slightly worrying, but then Perth weather has its way of switching seasons to suit. Driving up the highway with a full moon and pink skies it wasn’t hard to find the ambience as you made your way up the dirt road to Redhill Auditorium.
