THE WAR ON DRUGS

Live Review: The War on Drugs - Metro Theatre, Sydney (13.12.14)

The War on Drugs returned to Australia for Meredith Music Festival and a lot of sold-out sideshows. They played their first of two sold out shows in Sydney to an adoring crowd at The Metro Theatre.

Live Review: The War On Drugs - The Hi-Fi Bar, Melbourne (11.12.14)

Potentially being my last gig of the year, The War On Drugs certainly left their mark as one of my favourite shows of 2014 by playing a beautiful set of dreamy numbers that induced a spiritual experience I didn't expect.

The War On Drugs played to a massive sold out crowd in Sydney on Saturday night, supported by the excellent Ali Barter. Mikki Gomez was there and brings us these photos from the amazing show:

The Meredith Festival has once again made those who've entered the official ticket ballot incredibly hyped for the chance of landing themselves passes and everyone else who can't be at the December festival fiercely jealous, with the reveal of their 2014 artist announcement! Joining The War on Drugs is a line up of Australian and international artists Meredith describes as a result of 'dreaming longer', 'going further' and 'listening longer'.

Album Review: The War On Drugs - Lost in the Dream (2014 LP)

Indie rock four piece The War on Drugs are back with their album Lost in the Dream, their first in three years after 2011's Slave Ambient. This album is full of melodic harmonies, heart-wrenching lyrics and beautiful songs. The package really shows how far the band have come since their debut Wagonwheel Blues.

Live Review: The War on Drugs - Oxford Art Factory, Sydney (06.01.14)

What a sight The War on Drugs must be playing on a big open festival stage in picturesque place. Those who witnessed them at Marion must have got something special. I had to settle for the darkened confines of the Oxford Art Factory which provided as usual great sound, but lacked the atmosphere these songs deserved.

Photo Gallery: The Falls Music and Arts Festival, Lorne Victoria - Day Three (30.12.13)

As the sun rises over the bleary eyed campers at Erskine Falls, the music begins from both the Valley Stage and the Grand Theatre. Violent Soho, Pond and The Wombats were some of the standout acts, while Neil Finn had the crowd participating in a good old-fashioned singalong. Vydamo is pictured above.
