Live Review: Man of Constant Sorrow - A Tribute to the music of O Brother, Where Art Thou? - The Vanguard, Sydney (06.05.15)

When the Coen Brothers released the much loved film O Brother, Where Art Thou? in 2000, the sound track emerged to have a magical, cult following of its own. Celebrated as an extraordinary album that pays homage to the beauty of old American folk, bluegrass, country and even gospel – it was no surprise when fourteen years after the release of this album, The Vanguard announced that a stellar line-up of Australia’s own artists would be paying tribute to this album.

Live Review: Secret Garden Festival - Cobbitty (28.02.15)

A magical, wild and completely creative festival of music and art, Secret Garden Festival 2015 once again proved itself to be an event well worth experiencing. A camping festival that spans from Friday 27th to Saturday 28th February, Secret Garden is on a beautiful farm out in Cobbitty NSW, just an hour’s drive from Sydney yet well and truly removed from the city scene.

The Secret Garden Festival recently dropped the news that it had completely sold out all tickets for the 2015 festival, which was only testament to the event's continued popularity and faith from the loyal public who've backed it for so long. Today, the Sydney organisers dropped the full line up of artists set to perform and man, is it impressive. Over 60 bands and DJs will play over four stages at Secret Garden, promising to be the biggest outing of the festival yet. Both international and Australian talent will be represented well at the event, so if you've managed to nab yourself a ticket, you're definitely in a lucky crop!

Love Police stated, "Ever since my first concert at the Wandong Country Music Festival in the mid 70’s, I have had a fascination with the country sounds, the roots of it all, let’s just call it Americana music. Over the years I’ve had the good fortune to work with some great talent in this field like Gillian Welch, Old Crow Medicine Show and a load more. I’ve always tried to bring the best of what I see, hear and discover to our fine shores for us all to experience the good shit".

Bluesfest Busking Competition winners added to Wollombi Music Festival lineup

Having just taken out the annual busking competition at Byron Bay Bluesfest - Eddie Boyd & The Phatapillers have just been added to the lineup of Wollombi Music Festival, taking place on Saturday 27 September. They join the likes of Claude Hay & The Gentle Enemies, King Tide, Shaun Kirk and the Benny Walker Band.
