THE KILLERS

Single Stream: Brandon Flowers "Can't Deny My Love" (2015)

Enigmatic frontman for The Killers, Brandon Flowers, isn't letting his band's hiatus keep him away from the recording studio. Flowers is now dipping back into his solo career, releasing the pop-leaning "Can't Deny My Love" with a dynamic synth-funk pattern and melodic drums lifting his dramatic vocal work. The single is taken from the forthcoming follow up to 2010 album Flamingo, titled The Desired Effect which is scheduled for release mid-May.

The Griswolds, The Preatures and more join Morrissey and The Killers on the 2015 Firefly Festival bill!

The line up for the popular Firely Festival has been released, with a swag of our favourite artists set to fly out to Delaware this June to play alongside some of the world's best live bands. A mysterious third headliner is blanked out on the festival poster, with many already speculating that Paul McCartney will take the spot - with his many appearances lately, it wouldn't be totally surprising. For now, we know that Kings of Leon and The Killers lead the top row, with the likes of Morrissey, Bastille, Foster the People, Modest Mouse and Snoop Dogg following hot on their heels.

Six Australian artists have made this cut as well and join the following artists listed below.

Single Stream: The Killers - "Shot At The Night" (2013)

The Killers have unveiled a new track in "Shot At The Night", the first of two new songs to be featured on Direct Hits, the band's first greatest hits record. "Shot At The Night" has the trademark touch of M83's Anthony Gonzalez on it and marks a rather 80s glitz influenced jam for The Killers.

Festival Review: Big Day Out - Royal Adelaide Showgrounds (25.01.13)

There was a definite change of mood about the Showgrounds this year. It’s obvious upon one’s first scout about the festival site that the Big Day Out just doesn’t function properly in the stripped back capacity it did last year. With both main stages back in action, the El Jimador wrestling ring and Chow Town being new shiny drawcards for punters and the sheer force of the line-up this year, the Big Day Out experience people will buy tickets for actually seemed to be in operation for this, the 2013 edition.

Festival Review: Big Day Out - Gold Coast Parklands (20.01.13)

So, let it be known that I until this day was a Big Day Out virgin and might I say, what a ride! The day started slow and steady and ramped up for one big party at the main stages.

Festival Review: Big Day Out - Sydney Showground (18.01.13)

A record-breaking heatwave couldn’t stop Big Day Out 2013 from being one of the best in years, though not for lack of trying. The relentless sun threatened punters with heatstroke until about 6pm, at which point the cool air was a godsend, and the small bursts of rain salvation for us all.

Live Review: The Killers + Steve Smyth - Metro Theatre (16.01.13)

As far as modern indie-rock goes, there are not many names which could cause a stir as big as The Killers - a band which has headlined the biggest festivals around the world. Down here for this year’s mammoth Big Day Out, the indie-rock gods – along with promoters – decided to give us a very special surprise: a sideshow at Sydney’s relatively tiny Metro Theatre.

The State of Affairs - Latest Music Industry News: September 23rd 2012

In this week's slightly late column (sorry boss!), we look at a pretty big shake up on the album charts, the Universal-EMI deal, and The Sando, which looks like it'll be going under unless a last minute save is made.
