Melbourne Music Week announces full 2015 program

Now in its sixth year, Melbourne Music Week has released its full 2015 program. From the 13th of November until the 20th, over 100 events will light up the city, including live music performances, workshops, panel discussions, exhibitions, film screenings and more.

Tell you what, it was a bloody good feeling returning to the ‘Sup for my second Meredith Music Festival. In her 24th year, the demand to visit Aunty Meredith continues to outweigh ticket supply and with a no dickheads policy, a nude sprint race, BYO tinnies and couches, it’s not that hard to see why. This year was no exception, particularly with such a stellar line up boasting the likes of The War On Drugs, De La Soul and Factory Floor but for me, there were 5 standout acts that made my Meredith experience THAT much better.

The Harpoons announce East Coast tour for October and November!

Celebrating the release of their debut album Falling For You by way of east coast tour this November, is Melbourne band The Harpoons! Kicking off with a hometown show at Howler, the band will be bringing their new baby to crowds in Sydney and Brisbane! The Harpoons have already enjoyed some early international acclaim, with the likes of SPIN and Saint Heron giving them props, and their star on the local Australian scene also continues to rise and shine.

The Harpoons shot onto the radar so long ago that it's hard to believe that Falling Over You (due in July) will be their first album, but if "Unforgettable" is anything to go by, it'll be worth the wait. With Bec Rigby sounding like Janelle Monae waiting by the phone for you to return her call, it's irresistible.

Saskwatch Announce Album Tour for September and October

Melbourne's Saskwatch are currently one of the hottest bands on the market. The funk/soul nine-piece, yes, NINE, have announced a national tour off the back of their forthcoming debut album Leave It All Behind. With a bunch of festival appearances already marked down on Saskwatch's calendar, the band have slotted in a number of headlining dates for their fans to get along to throughout the next two months.

Soko + The Harpoons + Pikelet - Corner Hotel (01.01.09)


It was a matinee, on New Year’s Day, and so while some continues to sleep off the night before, the crazy went to Richmond, selling out Soko’s 2pm soiree. The crowd was quiet, obviously still in recovery mode and feeling seedy, though were excited to see the tiny French chanteuse.
