Now I may be jumping ahead in the timeline of my experience at this year’s two day Deni Blues and Roots Festival, but out of 8,000 attendees the character we met and the conversation we had in the final hours of the festival encompassed the overall ethos of the event.

Festival Review: Byron Bluesfest (Day Two) - Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm (18.04.14)

When faced with a festival that spans five days, it can be slightly daunting when it comes to planning your timetable for each day. Day two of Bluesfest coincides with Good Friday and arriving on site for my second round, there’s definitely a festive vibe in the air, albeit less chocolate.

Californian rock band Doobie Brothers will be returning to Australia this Easter. A worldwide favourite of the 1970s, founding members Tom Johnston and Pat Simmons, along with John McFee will be performing as an eight piece band with Tony Pia, Ed Toth, John Cowan, Marc Russo and Guy Allison.

Deni Blues & Roots Festival full line up announced for 2014!
