
This years Festival Of The Sun saw itself through with brilliant weather and plenty of crowd pleasers. Held at the Sundowner Tourist Park at Port Macquarie’s Breakwall Beach, the festival stage was about 50m from the shoreline and the ground full of sand – genius construction as feet on this terrain are able to dance wilder and stand stronger through performances.

‘Tis a Holy place The Annandale Hotel. And on Sunday’s Sabbath a sermon in rock and roll was given to a starved congregation by The Datsuns and The Treatment. During this rapture — the religious metaphors will end here, I promise — it occurred that for all rock and roll’s doom-sayers (whoops — semi-religious apocalypse analogy) the genre was healthy again.

The Datsuns are releasing album number five, Death Rattle Boogie and they are doing so ten years to the day, since the release of album number one. So of course, there has to be a killer tour, to share the tunes and celebrate the milestone and it will all be coming at you this December.
