the AU interview: Julian Cue of The Barons of Tang (Sydney)

World travelling gypsies The Barons of Tang have just released their debut album after six years of spectacular live shows, feverish dancing crowds and plenty of miles spent in the back of a van. We managed to steal some of vocalist and double bassist Julian Cue's to talk about the new album, what exactly is 'gypsy deathcore' and much more.

'Oddball' is an understatement when describing larrikins such as The Barons of Tang. After a rigorous tour around Europe, the band are proud to show off their exotic, and sometimes wacky, repertoire on their debut CD, entitled Into The Mouths of Hungry Giants.

Snowy Mountains of Music is on again for 2013 and celebrating 5 years!

Merging snow filled good times with amazing music is the announcement that Perisher's Snowy Mountains of Music is back again this June and celebrating five years of hill-topped musicality. With the line-up yet to be announced in a couple of weeks early-bird tickets are now available onsale until the 24th of March, for the chance to see some amazing international acts, alongside Australian folk/blues/rock artists.

Live Review: The Barons Of Tang + Mikelangelo and the Tin Star - The Brunswick East Club (28.02.12)

The second last night of music at the East Brunswick club was an occasion to remember and celebrate. A snippet of a little reminder on the men's bathroom door was very to the point: "I hope the new owners go financially bankrupt".

With their new EP Knots and Tangles in their back pocket, Summer finds The Barons of Tang roaring along the sizzling bitumen serpent and driving off into 26 sunsets, with a month of shows 27th Dec to 21st January 2011.
