Sheppard, Dan Sultan, 5SOS and Sia lead 2015 APRA Music Award nominations with multiple nods!

Today, the 2015 APRA Music Award nominees were announced, with some Australian songwriters emerging as particular hot contenders, nabbing multiple nominations. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the likes of Sia and 5 Seconds of Summer jumped off the page, both with three nominations to their name, while the Brisbane pop juggernaut that has become Sheppard lead the pack at four nom's.

Live Review: The Script + Taylor Henderson - The Metro Theatre, Sydney (14.10.14)

It doesn’t happen very often that when a band drops a new album we’re graced with a live show to go along with the promotion train that follows it. Sydney fans were fortunate to not only have Irish rockers The Script play for them, but it was at The Metro too, a considerably smaller venue than the last time they were here. After seeing their invigorating show last time I was keen to check them out again and see the difference a more intimate setting would make on their performance.

ARIA Award nominees and Fine Arts winners announced in Sydney today!

Winners and more nominees for the 2014 ARIA Awards were announced at the official event in Sydney this morning, with some of Australia's best performers and their teams recognised for their work over the past year. The winners of the Fine Arts and Artisan Awards were announced at the event, with the slew of nominees for the November ARIAs unveiled. the AU congratulates all involved - there have been some truly stellar records produced over the past year, as well as the development of some great live bands who are getting just recognition!

Last year, when Dami Im took out the winner's title of the fifth series of The X Factor Australia, the country looked to its next radio-friendly superstar out of the reality TV show gates. However, as previous seasons of these shows have dictated, it's all very well to laud and praise the winner, but the focus often should be cast to the runner up, as their star is usually the one to skyrocket. Such has been the case for 21 year old Taylor Henderson.

After winning X Factor Australia 2013 last month, 24 year-old Queenslander Dami Im is set to headline the X Factor Live Tour alongside the remaining top five contestants, Taylor Henderson, 14 year-old Jai Waetford, Third D3gree and Jiordan Tolli.
