Swans, Amanda Palmer and more on the MOFO 2015 line-up announcement!

The MOFO Festival 2015 lineup has been announced, with the four-day festival encompassing a long list of music genres and artists. Hobart's MONA FOMA (Museum of Old and New Art Festival of Music and Art) will be hosting the event for its seventh year from January 15-18.

Album Review: Swans - To Be Kind (2014 LP)

The Swans have never been interested in diluting their musical ideas and this is reinforced with the ominous, eclectic and just bizarre two hour To Be Kind . With everything from the clopping of horses walking to a full on string section, the sheer range of sounds will bewilder you. But they’re all in thrall to the immersive, alternative moods of fury and impending doom with the utterances of frontman Michael Gira just as scattered and maniacal.

Feature: Splendour 2013 speculation - who will or won't perform?

Will they or won’t they? While we will never be sure who is playing a festival until the promoters actually release a line-up, it’s always fun to speculate and throw around any rumours that come up. The next big festival yet to announce their line-up is Splendour In The Grass. With the line-ups for Primavera, Summersonic and Coachella festivals already out there, it’s time to salivate over who will may (or have already actually confirmed) continue down here fore Australia’s premier winter festival.

Live Review: All Tomorrow's Parties present "I'll Be Your Mirror" - Melbourne (16-17.02.13)

Founded in 1999, the concept of All Tomorrow’s Parties (ATP) is simple: a brand of music festivals which provide an alternative, counter-culture to your typical festival. ATP is a musical celebration which takes classic rock bands and lets them curate an entire line-up, allowing the punter to expand their music taste, and/or witness bands they never thought they’d ever get to see; bands which have been vetted by their favourite musicians.

Live Review: Swans - Corner Hotel (15.02.13)

Every so often a band comes along and puts on a show so profound that the memory of the gig is branded violently into your synapses. Such a band happens to be Swans seminal NYC post punk band which formed in 1982, led by Michael Gira.
