Big Scary and more added to the final lineup of the Panama Festival.

The latest addition to Australia's ever-growing crop of boutique festivals, PANAMA, has just gotten bigger! The Tasmanian festival, set to go down on March 8 and 9 this year, is going to be quite the intimate and secluded affair, as far as festivals go. With only 1000 tickets being made available, PANAMA is set to offer punters quite the unique experience; spending two days with some amazing acts, pop up cabarets, storytelling sessions and more!

Live Review: At First Sight - Carriageworks (20.07.13)

Carriageworks is an art space that doesn’t see live music too often, so when some of the nation’s brightest indie acts descend upon the massive warehouse for a unique record-day-slash-music-festival, you can be sure Sydney’s hipsters came out in droves. Really, the day was worth it just for the people-watching alone, the most unashamedly hipster fashion was on display all day, touting every stereotype you can throw at the hate-it-or-love-it subculture.

Live Review: Super Wild Horses + Day Ravies + Family - Goodgod Small Club (10.05.13)

There are clear limitations to playing live as a two piece band. The set-up has seen acts like the White Stripes and Mess Hall rely on increasingly complex instrumentation. This approach had its own limitations with both acts eventually relying on additional live members to perform the increasingly complex music that they created in the studio. Other acts have placed an increased reliance on pre-recorded backing tracks to flesh out their songs.

Live Review: Pond + Super Wild Horses - The Corner Hotel (23.09.12)

I first thought that Super Wild Horses were a strange choice of support for a band like Pond but in the end I really enjoyed the contrast. Where Pond would play lengthy complicated numbers Super Wild Horses would do the exact opposite, with most of their tracks barely pushing the 2 minute mark and the only instruments to be played a guitar and a drum kit. That aside, Super Wild Horses are writers of some of the catchiest tracks pushed out of the Melbourne scene in the last few years. With both girls sharing lyrical duties and yelling most tracks you can’t help but get lost in them; only breaking free during the mid set instrument swap.
